Team Tuesday 🤍

Today we’re highlighting Jason Potrzeba, who has been part of the Blackstone team for four years! Jason started as waitstaff and has since made his way behind the bar as one of our bartenders.

Jason is a lifelong East Providence resident, he works as a home improvement loan officer. Outside of work, he enjoys the gym, biking the East Bay Bike Path, and watching true crime. He’s also a serious collector with nearly 3,000 comic books in his collection! And if there’s one thing you should know about Jason, it’s that he’s never turning down Ben & Jerry’s on a shift.

Jason is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and always a pleasure to work with. He’s someone you can count on for a great conversation, and a good laugh.

One of Jason’s favorite Blackstone memories is fitting seven or eight coworkers into his car when tripping down to an event. His favorite venues are private homes and his favorite menu items are the tuna poke cones and lobster-stuffed sole.

Team Tuesday 🤍

Today we’re highlighting Avery Grelle, who has been part of the Blackstone team for five years as one of our lead servers!

Originally from Jamestown, RI, Avery recently moved to Warwick and is studying biology at CCRI with hopes of becoming a physician assistant one day. When she’s not deep in her studies, she loves spending time with her friends. She also has a twin brother, an older sister, two cats, and a dog!

Avery is one of those people who always seems to have a smile on her face. She’s incredibly welcoming, positive, and genuinely a friend to everyone she meets. You can typically find her at Shepherd’s Run, where she’s become one of our standout servers and is always someone we can count on to get the job done while bringing great energy to the team. 😌

One of Avery’s favorite parts of Blackstone is getting to work alongside her friends, especially Reilly, and occasionally Sean… ;) Her favorite venue is Rosecliff, and her favorite menu item is the strawberry salad.

Team Tuesday 🤍

Today we’re highlighting Christian Pidru, who has been part of the Blackstone team for five years! Christian started with us as a cook and now serves as one of our lead stewards.

Originally from Ecuador, Christian grew up in Newport, where he now lives with his wife, son, and stepdaughter. He was introduced to the culinary world in high school and got his start at Bouchard’s, before landing his first job at The Landing in Newport.

Outside of work, Christian loves spending time with his two-year-old son, Ezra. One of their favorite things to do is walk around the bird sanctuary together. Fun fact about Christian? He also played the viola growing up!

One of Christian’s favorite things about Blackstone is the people. He considers our team his “seasonal family” and loves getting to work alongside everyone. Christian brings that same welcoming energy to every shift—he’s always checking in, asking how you’re doing, and making sure everyone feels welcome. He’s truly one of those friendly faces you can always count on!

Christian’s favorite venues to work at are private homes because every event is different, and his favorite menu item is the duck wonton.

Team Tuesday 🤍

Today we’re highlighting Marc LaLancette, who has been part of the Blackstone team for 10 years as one of our chefs!

Marc lives on Aquidneck Island and is married to one of our lovely bartenders.❤️ He has two sons and two black labs. Outside of work, Marc enjoys spending time at his home in the mountains of Maine and is also a chainsaw sculptor (swipe to see some of his crazy work! 🪵)

One of Marc’s favorite parts of Blackstone is getting to watch the younger members of our team grow. One of his favorite memories is training a staff member who started as a dishwasher and eventually became a chef, a true full-circle moment!

Marc is incredibly experienced, friendly, and down-to-earth. He’s always happy to get to know the members of the team, hear about what’s going on in their lives, and share what he’s learned along the way. He’s truly a pleasure to work with and someone we’re lucky to have on the team.

You can typically find Marc at Blithewold, where he specializes in setting up and working our raw bars during cocktail hour. His favorite venue is Blithewold, and his favorite menu item is, of course, the raw bar!
