Camp Maple is back this summer with something new — every week brings a fresh nature-inspired theme, a hands-on craft, and now a delicious cooking lesson too. Your little maker gets to create something to keep and something to eat.

This week's Farm Fresh Friday is extra special because - SOURDOUGH IS BACK! The lovely Autumn from is back to weekly deliveries after resting up from bringing the cutest little baker into the world. On the porch, we will have High Bridge Pork & Beef again, and inside we will have a host of freshness from Jersey blueberries, Maine tomatoes, local eggs, cheese from Goshen, and more! And of course, all of the baked goods, coffee, and ICE CREAM. Start your weekend off with a stop to get all of the local goodies to enjoy the weekend.

A Craft to Keep and a Treat to Eat!

We will start each session with a craft, have a section of group play while we will switch our materials over for the cooking portion of our camp.

WHAT: Led by Counselor and First Grade Teacher, Emily Putnam, and Chef Kay Volpe, Camp Maple is a chance for kids to experience crafting, nature, and cooking all in one

WHO: Camp Maple is open to children ages 3 and up. All projects are designed to be completed by younger children as well as older children, with the understanding that older children might take more time and intent in the completion of their projects. All campers are required to be accompanied by an adult for the entire session. You are invited to enroll for one session, multiple sessions, or all sessions.

WHERE: Camp Maple is held at The Sugarhouse at Finding Home Farms, located at 140 Eatontown Road, Middletown, NY. All sessions are held outside under our covered patio area, rain or shine.

WHEN: Camp is being held on SIX Fridays this summer, starting at 10 am and finishing at about 11:00 to 11:30.

Week 1 / July 10 - WINGS & BLOOMS: Our first week starts with a butterfly craft project and decorating a butterfly-themed cupcake.

Week 2 / July 17 - FOREST GARDEN: Campers will make a forest garden and a forest-themed popcorn snack mix.

Week 3 / July 31 - FOREST FAIRIES AND GNOMES: Campers will make nature crowns and dirt cake.

Week 4 / August 7 - BEES & BUGS: Campers will be making bee water cups and ladybug-decorated cookies.

Week 5 / August 14 - STARGAZING: Campers will be making ribbon dream catchers and s'more pops.

Week 6 / August 21 - STICKS & STONES: Campers will be doing rock painting and dipped pretzel sticks.

Farm Fresh Fridays are coming — and we're looking for the right vendors to join us.

Starting this summer, we'll be hosting Farm Fresh Fridays here at Finding Home Farms every Friday from 3–6 pm — a small, intentional gathering of local makers and growers alongside our café and market.

We're not looking to fill spots. We're looking for the right fit.

We already have sourdough, beef, pork, and mushrooms covered — so we're especially interested in supplemental fresh vegetables (we have one vendor), herbs, cut flowers, honey, eggs, local cheese, preserves, or other Hudson Valley farm and cottage food products. No crafts or imported goods.

You don't need to commit to every Friday — we'd love to hear from vendors who want to show up when it works for them.

June Specials have hit the cafe and they are amazing! Stop in try one, one of our new drink specials, and visit our vendors for FARM FRESH FRIDAYS AT FINDING HOME FARMS from 3 - 6 starting this week. Fresh & local veggies, eggs, beef and pork!

1. STREET CORN SOUP - House-made with roasted sweet corn topped with cotija, cillantro & chives

2. APPLEWOOD SMOKED MAPLE BLT - Maple bacon, fresh romaine, heirloom tomato, roasted garlic aioli, served on challah bread with a side of kettle chips

3. CHILI CRISP CHICKEN SALAD WRAP - Chili crisp chicken salad, with carrots, cucumbers, & purple cabbage served with a side of kettle chips

4. CAMPFIRE WAFFLE - Buttermilk belgian waffles, topped with house made meringue, chocolate sauce, graham cracker crumbles and maple whipped cream

5. FARM FRESH SALAD - Spring mix, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, pickled onions, avocado, with grilled chicken, & served with our housemade maple balsamic

6. LOADED HUMMUS TOAST - ¾ sliced Sourdough, pickled onions carrots, & cucumbers, hummus, avacado, turkey bacon topped with Za’atar seasoning

7. CHORIZO WAFFLERITO - Baked eggs, roasted chorizo, grilled onions, hash brown, with pepper jack cheese wrapped and pressed, served with chipotle crema

Since we opened the café and market, I have wanted to bring as much fresh, local goodness to this community as I possibly could. I have always dreamed of our porch overflowing with vegetables, fruit, flowers and more — a gathering place where you could fill your basket and head home feeling like the weekend was truly beginning.

We tested the idea last year. We brought in vendors, tried different combinations, and never quite got the formula right. But this week, it all begins.

Farm Fresh Fridays at Finding Home Farms.

Fresh vegetables and local meat on the porch, local ice cream, our full café menu, a rotating lineup of weekly specials, and an expanded take-away section stocked with baked goods and freshly made meals. Local vendors inside, and of course everything Finding Home Farms makes and loves.

I called it Farm Fresh Fridays because I have always loved alliteration, and honestly because it is exactly what it is. Every Friday from 3 to 6, starting this week and going forward. We will keep rotating the vendors and the offerings to make it worth the drive and worth your Friday.

Last week, we lost my dad.

George Gayet, father, grandfather, and Finding Home Farms’ most dedicated (and entirely self-appointed) sales rep, passed away on May 12th at the age of 88.

In his retirement years, George drove across the tri-state area, walking into accounts and opening doors we never could. He would fill the back of his minivan and head out, almost never telling us where he was headed. We always wondered what he said when he showed up but it sure worked. Many of those accounts are still some of our most treasured partners.

We are so thankful for all the ways he helped us with our business, for his memorable laugh and for showing up for us.

He will be missed.
