Our good ol' boy Joe passed quietly yesterday evening after living a great life as caretaker and companion on the farm. He loved and worked hard and was a wonderful dog. He'll be very missed but will live on in the beautiful happy pups he sired. ❤️.

So my daughter's in Scotland right now and took this adorable photo. I asked her "are they called Scottish Highlanders there, or just cows?"

Here's her answer ---
"They’re called hairy coos! Or heilan coo depending who’s talking. 🥰"

The re-enactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek is this weekend. If you don't know, the battle took place on October 19, 1864. General George Custer camped on the north ridge behind Westernview Farm before the battle. Molly McCloud, who built the farm, was actively involved in the war and later was convicted and imprisoned as a spy. The farm was a tenant farm for many years before being subdivided as it is now. I'm trying to do more research on Miss Molly McLoud and her beloved Westernview Farm. It has been designated a "historically significant property" and we think her story deserves to be saved. ❤️ 🌟
