This week, we're putting the spotlight on Willow Oaks, our Vendor of the Week.

Willow Oaks has a pretty remarkable history. They are the oldest organic farm in Maryland and one of the oldest organic orchards in the country. What I love most about what they do is that they’re not just growing fruit. They’re preserving heritage varieties, teaching sustainable growing practices, sharing what they know, and turning what they grow into everything from jams, butters and syrups to ciders and dessert wines.

This Thursday, they'll be talking everything FIGS!

Dani, Lori and Eric will be at the market talking about growing fig trees, taking care of them, harvesting and preparing the fruit, and answering your questions about growing your own.

Oh yeah, and there will be a fig tasting, too!

It’s finally fig season, and Willow Oaks is bringing a little piece of the Garden of Eden to Middletown. Come taste the actual fruit, learn something new, and get to know one of the farms that has been helping Maryland grow for a very long time.

It’s only a couple days into summer, and Willow Oaks craft cider and wine already feels like the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay a while.

Based in Middletown, Willow Oaks is first and foremost a working farm and orchard. It’s a place shaped by seasons, weather, and the steady rhythm of growing things the right way instead of the fast way. Fruit trees, open land, and a focus on letting the landscape set the pace for everything that comes from it.

That farm mindset carries through everything they do. What they bring to market is about the land it came from and the care behind it. Alongside their orchard-grown fruit, they also offer fresh fruits and vegetables in season, plus plants and trees for anyone looking to grow a little piece of the farm at home.

There’s just something about a Farmers Market Friday at Square Corner Park… and we’re inviting you to come be part of it on May 8.

We’re especially excited to welcome back Willow Oaks craft cider and wine, bringing along their craft ciders, fruit trees, and plants and of course plus those friendly smiles you’ve come to know and look forward to. Whether you’re stocking your garden, picking out something new to sip, or just stopping by to say hello, they’re always worth the visit.

Grab dinner, catch up with friends, let the kids run a little (but not in vendor spaces, please), and soak in everything that makes these evenings special. We’ll save you a spot under at the picnic tables.
