National Dairy Month began in June 1937, and the tradition continues today! Did you know Delaware has around 3,000 milk cows producing about 47 million lbs of milk yearly from just 13 dairy farms? Thank you to the hard working dairy farmers and families that are behind milk and dairy products making it to our grocery store shelves every day.

Did you know June is National Dairy Month? Let’s give a shoutout to all our dairy farmers—because without them, there’d be no milk, no cheese, and worst of all… no ice cream! Now that would be a tragedy. 🍦🐄

Did you know today is and the start of 🎉

World Milk Day was started in 2001 by the UN FAO to recognize the importance of dairy to global food systems. Dairy also supports the livelihoods of 1 billion people worldwide. 🌍

While National Dairy Month first began in 1937 as National Milk Month to promote milk consumption during a production surplus. It has since morphed into National Dairy Month to celebrate all segments of the dairy community!

Raise a glass of milk 🥛, a bite of cheese 🧀, or maybe even a scoop of ice cream 🍦 to the hard working dairy farmers who make it all possible!
