Jamie Beth from Valley-HomeMade and HomeGrown and I talk about this all the time. Flowers may not feed us, but they still nourish us.
We’re living in a time when it seems like everything costs more than it did yesterday. People are watching their budgets, stretching their dollars, and thinking twice before spending money on something they don’t absolutely need... and yet, people still buy flowers.
You’ll see it at farmers markets all over the country, and Myersville is no exception. Fresh-cut flowers remain one of those things people make room for. Maybe it’s because, in the middle of all the practical things we have to buy, we still need something that serves no purpose other than making us feel good.
Flowers brighten the kitchen table. They make us stop and notice something beautiful. They can lift our spirits after a long week. They remind us to celebrate the ordinary days, not just the special ones.
So yes, flowers may not feed us, but they still nourish us, and when those flowers come from Valley-HomeMade and HomeGrown, you’re getting something you simply can’t find in the floral department of a big box store. These flowers are grown locally, freshly cut, and brought directly to the market. They haven’t spent days traveling across the country or sitting in warehouses and distribution centers before they ever reach your vase.
They’re fresher. They last longer. They come from someone who grew them right here. In a world where we’re all trying to make our dollars go a little farther, a bouquet of fresh, locally grown flowers is more than just an extra... it’s a little bit of nourishment we all still need.
