Had a great time at Lancaster BBQ Supply yesterday for our last Steak Cookoff Association of the year. Weather started out pretty chilly but turned out to be a great day. Our results weren't as good as hoped for but got an 8th place in steak A, steak B ended up in in the bottom third out of 29 teams. Always great seeing our steak family and will miss them for the winter. Our next scheduled event is the SCA World Championship in March. We would like to thank Tyler Madenford and Courtney Madenford for hosting the 2 events here this year and can't wait to see you next year. Also want to thank Tim Manley for running such as smooth event and keeping us all in line. Has a great time at New Holland Summer Fest. Did a Steak Cookoff Association Cookoff today and the weather was perfect. Had a couple of hiccups but managed a 2nd place finish. Thank you Nathan Martin for running a great event and Tim Manley for running a smooth event despite my old age and forgetfulness 🤪. I also want to thank & DB180 for their support and sponsorship. Saw a lot of friends and made some new ones today.
I get to judge BBQ tomorrow here and see a lot of BBQ friends. What a great way to start the weekend ❤️

Home and rested up from our great time at the York County BBQ Festival / Steak Cookoff Association cookoff yesterday in Delta, PA. The weather was great. It's always great to see our BBQ and steak family. We had a pretty smooth cook and was very happy with our 4th place finish and we got a handed down Gollden Ticket to the SCA World Championship XI in Ft Worth next March. Home and rested up from our great time at the Twin Valley Fire & Smoke BBQ Competition / Steak Cookoff Association Steak cookoff yesterday in Morgantown, PA. As usual Tom, Lori and crew who organize put on a great event. Cloudy all day but the rain held off thankfully. It's always great to see our BBQ and steak family. We had a pretty smooth cook and was happy with our 6th place finish. OK, home, dried off and rested up from our steak cookoff in New Holland, PA yesterday. We had a great time despite the weather. It's always great seeing our Steak Cookoff Association family. This was my first time cooking on my PKGO in a competition and it didn't go well. Totally my fault, just wasn't used to it. I will figure it out, it's a great product. Congrats to Rick Manzi for placing 1st in Steak A & C, Bryan Davis for his Perfect score in Steak B and overall Champion
and Jimmy Miller for his win in Ribs. We want to thank Tim Manley for running a smooth event and Bryant Glick for putting on another great event. Thank you to our sponsors -TeamDB180

Had a great time at Lancaster BBQ Supply yesterday despite the windy conditions. A couple of teams lost their canopies due to the wind, thankfully our brand new canopy survived due to the weights and stakes. Tyler Madenford & Courtney put on an excellent event. Great seeing our family as always. We had kind of a 50/50 results. Finished 9th in Steak A and 23rd in Steak B due to my stupid mistake and misread the timeline for steak B and cooked it 1/2 hour before turn in time. So surprised I finished as well as I did.

Well, this post may seem a little strange but then we never claimed to be normal. Both last year and this one, we drove back from Ft Worth, Tx and the day after we were both sick. Last year was Covid and this year Norma has bronchitis and I have an upper respiratory infection. I guess we’re just too old to do that drive. The next time we’re lucky enough to attend, we’re going to fly. We both feel like crap 😖, though Norma has been sick for 2 days, me just starting today.

Happy to say that despite the horrible weather, I managed to make the finals tomorrow. Had to go back to Paris Coffee Shop Fort Worth this year. Got my brisket taco again and it was as great as last year. Norma got the salmon.
