It may be Red Plate Farm’s first year at the Middletown Farmers Market, but these young farmers are anything but new to the game.

They came to us with plenty of experience already under their belts, and they have wasted no time making their mark. We’re pretty excited to have them here, and even more excited to watch what they bring to the market as the season goes along. Red Plate Farm grows a wide variety of vegetables using sustainable practices, with a focus on building healthy soil while growing food that feeds the community.

This week, they’re bringing something especially useful for anyone who has ever wished summer tomatoes could stick around just a little longer. They’ll have bulk boxes of tomatoes, perfect for canning or freezing, and each box comes with two FREE bunches of herbs plus their own Red Plate Farm sauce recipe.

If you’ve been thinking about putting up some tomatoes for winter, this is the perfect opportunity. If you haven’t met the folks at Red Plate Farm yet, they're our Vendor of the Week, so this is a pretty good time to change that. We’re proud to have them at the market, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, they’re just getting started.

This Sunday August 9th we are popping up outside the !!! We’ve got an abundance of tomatoes and cucumbers plus lots of other delicious summer veg. Send us a message if you want bulk amounts to stock up your winter pantry. We’ll see you there!!

Digging around in the mud this morning to bring you the first potatoes, CSA! These were the very first thing to get planted at Red Plate. It amazes me everyday how this land provides for us.
