I just managed to nurse the boy back to sleep, get out to feed, water and release our small flock of modern dinos, lay new litter on the run, water the berry patch, the new seeds and all the rest of the garden before sneaking back to sleeping babe for more snuggles. Dreaming of the days when my little boy will be out with me playing whilst I water and maybe he will catch a stray sprinkle.

It's hard to believe that our first Thanksgiving in our first home as married Michiganders has come and gone. Here are some highlights:
Whole Wheat Scrolls with sweet and savory compound butters
Stuffing ft kale, parmesan, chicken and chickpea (A protein kick in that carb load!)
Brown Sugar Custard with Fried Apple (apples that Jeremy shook from a tree after 2 or 3 frosts...such an excellent flavor!)
Donut Bread Pudding, enough said.

Having a partner on third shift is hard. Making something as pretty as this frittata and cornbread to enjoy in the late afternoon was a labor of love and I did my best to use up some of the awesome homegrown and local bits and baubles we have in the fridge.

Also, I'm obsessed with the flavor of these nasturtium. If you haven't yet had the delight of munching one of these delicately sweet and somewhat spicey beauties...come visit!

It's been a very busy few months getting our affairs in order, digging a lot, planting some, planning the most. This week we will be planting so many seeds and the anticipation is almost too much to bear. On the docket: Country Gentleman (shoepeg) corn, Rouges Vif D'Estampe Pumpkins, Star and Moon melon, one hundred strawberries, kales, lettuces, onions, potatoes,cabbage, peppers, tomatoes, beans, peas, cucumbers, and so much more, oh my!!!
