All have been shown at some point at our county fair and all have placed. All are extremely friendly and halter trained.

1. "Captain" is an 8 year old Nigerian dwarf wether. He has been shown at our local fair when he was 1 and was reserve wether.

2. "Fudge Brownie" is a registered ADGA Nigerian dwarf doe who has kidded twice without assistance. She will be 3 in April. She has been shown at our local fair and has placed multiple times.

3. "Wasabi" is a registered ADGA Nigerian dwarf doe who has kidded twice without assistance. She will be 3 in April. She has been shown at our local fair.

4. "Dolly" is a registered ABGA Boer doe who will be 2 in February. She has been shown at our local fair and has placed multiple times.

5. "Biscuit" is a 2 year old Boer doe. She was shown at our local fair. She was disbudded but one horn did grow back. She is not aggressive with it at all. My kids like to call her unicorn goat.

We are changing directions on our farm. We have decided that we will not be showing at our fair anymore but rather we want to just help kids out and family’s that need direction in the show ring and advice. The world today is forever changing and the politics in our county have gotten to over baring. Our kids are growing up and involved in so many things with sports that showing animals is just getting to much. With all that we are getting out of goats and some things and changing are direction of travel. We have some great goats that are for sale so if your looking send us a message and we can try to put you with something that will fit or if you even want a pet. We will still be a farm and producing farm products and always here to support families in the future.

No one prepares you for that first real hard loss on the farm. The one that is the reason why you started it all to begin with.

Tonight we lost our legacy, our faithful goat Tilly. She has been around our farm since 2017 and has given us 7 sets of kids. She was 14 years old and retired after she had her last set of twin does this past January. We often referred to her as grandma Tilly because the last few years she would take care of the other kids.

Tilly taught us a lot over the last 8 years. We learned how to birth kids from her, how to show goats with her. We learned how to milk a goat & make soap. The kids learned how to build a relationship with an animal and how to gain their trust, plus so much more.

The farm won't be the same anymore without her greeting us daily and giving her head pets.

Day 4 of the fair was wedny & it was an extremely long day that lasted over 12 hours!

We started the day with the goat show and all 3 kids showed.
Mackenzie went out there with bananas and kicked ass! That girl knew all the answers to her questions and knew how to show. She pulled out 1st place out of about 30 kids!

Bentley showed a lot of goats yesterday.
6th place in showmanship
3rd place 5 yrs & over, aged Milker
3rd place Senior herd
2nd place Juniors, 0- under 3 months
2nd place Get of sire class
2nd place Senior yearling never kidded
2nd place Get of sire class

Ty showed a lot of goats yesterday as well.

We ended the night with the small animal auction where Bentley auctioned off his male rouen duck & Ty auctioned off his female Nigerian Dwarf goat. A huge thank you to M&M feed store for purchasing Bentley's duck and to R&H Ranch for purchasing Ty's goat.

Day 3 of the fair is complete. The kids all showed their ducks today and did amazing! The kids had a blast playing in the rain until the tornado warning & sirens started. We then took cover into the bathrooms 😬

Mackenzie took 1st place in peewee showmanship! She did amazing.

Day 2 of the Fair is about done. It was definitely our busiest day.
We couldn't of made today possible without all the help. Thank you Kelly, Alexis, Lindsey, our 4H group and the Jr. Fairboard.

Rabbits 🐇 - Mackenzie showed a rabbit for the first time and took 6th place in showmanship. Bentley showed his rabbit but Mom messed up & entered her into the wrong breed class.

Pigs 🐖- Ty and Bentley both showed today. I thought they did amazing but the judge said that they were both too muscular. Mackenzie showed a pig for the first time today and did amazing!

Lambs 🐑 - All three kids showed today. Ty took 6th place in showmanship and Mackenzie took 3rd place in showmanship.

Since we're in the thick of county fair season...

The animal isn't the only project. The kid putting in countless hours of feeding, training, washing, and overall caring for the animal is also the project.

4-H isn't just for farm kids either. It reaches across communities rural, suburban, and urban- and even countries- and teaches youth the value of learning by doing, and serving your community and world 🌎
