Fresh off the loom today. Tried something new, I used cotton yarn. I like the result. If you try it weave fairly loose. The cotton yarn doesn’t have any stretch. It got pretty tight to weave the last few rows.

My ice dying experiment.
1st photo was yesterday with the yarn on the bottom, then ice, finally the dye sprinkled on top.
2nd photo this morning. 2 skeins of the results. 2 more skeins because all the dye wasn’t exhausted and I hate to waste it. So I threw in 2 more skeins and heated these to dye them.

Trying ice dying yarn. I have to leave it overnight so success or failure I will post pictures of the two skeins of yarn...

Had my chore helpers back yesterday. The 4 year old loves to scoop p**p. When we went out to do evening chores, Avyn says "Grandma, Should I pick up the beans and the turds, cause Grandpa says I should leave the turds". I guess I have to have a talk with Grandpa. LOL. If you click on the first pic you can see George is questioning the help.

Update, Recycle bag mat is 44” long. Second square on the loom. Shawl is being blocked. We have had a couple busy weeks....

Update, Recycle bag mat is 44” long. Second square on the loom. Shawl is being blocked.
We have had a couple busy weeks. Helped friends shear 68 of their alpacas. Brought home 10 alpacas. Getting more done around the farm. Good news the hail storm was bad enough we need a new roof to match the newly painted house.

This weeks projects: on the hook, mat for the homeless made from grocery bags.
On the needles, a shawl made from alpaca yarn of course. And on the loom is a shrug, I have to make three identical squares and piece them together, also using Alpaca yarn. Check in for progress photos.
