Grooming is about more than keeping your horse looking good. It’s also a great opportunity to check in on their overall comfort and catch small issues before they become bigger problems!

The 3 most common mistakes we have noticed people make when grooming their horses are..

1. Rushing Through Grooming
Before you start brushing, run your hands over your horse to check for swelling, small cuts, or skin irritation. Taking your time helps you notice changes you might otherwise miss.

2. Using Dirty Grooming Tools
Dirty brushes can transfer dirt and debris right back onto your horse. Clean your grooming tools regularly and allow them to dry completely before using them again.

3. Skipping the Hooves
Always groom from head to hoof! Picking out your horse’s hooves helps remove packed mud, bedding, and other debris while giving you a chance to check for anything unusual.

🥚 Unwashed or Washed?

Did you know the difference comes down to a little thing called the bloom? It’s a natural, waxy coating a hen puts on her egg that helps seal tiny pores in the shell and protect against bacteria and moisture loss.

🌿 UNWASHED EGGS — Keep the Bloom!
- The natural protective coating stays intact.
- Traditionally, eggs may last 2–4 weeks in a cool, dry spot at room temperature under suitable conditions.
- Refrigerated storage allows unwashed eggs to last 3–6 months.
- Once refrigerated, keep them refrigerated to avoid condensation on the shell.

🧼 WASHED EGGS — Clean & Convenient!
- The bloom is removed during washing.
- Keep refrigerated at 40°F or below.
- Use within 3–5 weeks for best quality.
🥚 Storage tip: Keep eggs in their carton on a main refrigerator shelf, not the door, and store them pointy-end down.

🐾 LARRY UPDATE! 🐾

Our little farm pup is 3 months old and growing FAST! Here’s what he’s been up to:

⚖️ 20 lbs & just got his last puppy shots!
🐶 Favorite thing: Playing with big brother Scooter
🐱 Best friend: Trixie, the barn cat
🎓 Knows: Sit, stay, come (most of the time 😂), shake & sit pretty
🌙 Big accomplishment: Sleeps through the night!
🚜 New skill: Climbs into the tractor all by himself
🪰 Favorite job: Professional Fly Catcher
🐛 Dislikes: His kennel & caterpillars

This weekend was all about getting more pasture work done!

We spent the weekend leveling out the pasture and picking up all the random things the horses seem determined to use to try and hurt themselves… You know, like sticks and rocks.

We can't wait to see horses out here!
