Hollow Oak Farm Private hunter/jumper equestrian facility catering to the development of well-rounded young riders. Welcome to Hollow Oak Farm!

We are a private equestrian facility located in Midland, North Carolina. We specialize in developing well-rounded young equestrians. We offer hunter, jumper, dressage, and western lessons for all ages. We are home to a wonderful group of lesson ponies and horses, as well as the home base of Kickin' Tails 4H Club. Our 6 acre farm offers a lighted sand 85x200' arena with a full set of jumps. We offe

r a number of on site clinics and fun days, and we often trailer off-site for schooling and showing opportunities. We occasionally have horses for lease as well. Please contact us for more information.

This past weekend I participated in a 2 day advanced first aid training that was very helpful and opened my eyes to a few things that I will be implementing on the farm. We learned multiple ways to move a horse out of several different predicaments they find themselves in using webbing- IE- down in a trailer, cast in a stall, hung hoof in bars on stall fronts, trailer accidents, as well as many other ways , including side drags, front and rear drags as well as using emergency halters guaranteed to fit all size horses. We finished with barn fire safety.

At our 4-H meeting tonight I taught the kids a front and rear drag as well as a side drag. They also learned how to put on an emergency halter with a piece of rope!

Hey all, a few important potential up coming dates-I need an idea in who is interested in doing what?

Tomorrow and Sunday is the Gymnastics clinic. If you are NOT participating please ride prior to 9:30 or after 11am Friday and before 10:30 or after 12:30 Saturday.

SEPTEMBER 26th- Hollow Oak Horse show- this year we have added a jumper class

OCTOBER ON 3rd-4th -Combined training (war horse) at the horse park- I need to know WHO is interested in going to this.

OCTOBER 10th-11th- the 10th will be our annual DE-Spook clinic and our scarecrow scavenger hunt/sleepover- the 11th we will be going cross country schooling locally-

NOVEMBER- 6th-8th show in Camden

DECEMBER-4th-6th show at Tryon.
