Time to hatch some eggs! 🐣
We started up the incubator Monday and set a nice haul of beautiful eggs. Some from our hens and some we purchased from a few other farms.
Little did we know, we had a hen hidden away sitting on 13 eggs. Amazingly, she successfully hatched all 13 of them! We setup the brooder and moved the chicks to a safe area in the barn. We always welcome unexpected hatches like this one!
In three weeks, we hope to be overrun with even more chicks! Hatching eggs is one of our (and by our I mean me, Laura) favorite things to do. While most of these chicks will stay here, we may make some available at a later time.
