Eggs are a process. It's not easy. But the benefits are great. Not only is it interesting, it benefits the community. There are a lot of steps in being a licensed Egg Handler and Producer. In order, you wash each egg. While washing, you inspect them for blemishes, cracks, week spots. Then we put them on the rack to drip dry. One at a time we dry them off entirely while doing a secondary egg inspection. Then they are candled to make sure the air pocket is minimal, there is no internal discoloration, and yes, inspect for obvious cracks, blemishes, or week spots. Then they are weighed, packaged, and dated with a "sell by" date and the Julian date. Once packaged, they must be refrigerated. When transporting to a store, they have to be in a temperature controlled environment as well. Then they are put on the shelves at the store.

It's a lot of work to make this happen, but the benefits are awesome! Farm Fresh Cage Free Eggs are so much more healthy for you and rich in vitamins.

We are seriously so upset about the cost of eggs at our stores. We know it's not their fault, but inflation has caused their prices to sky rocket. This is our local store in Mariposa, CA. Our eggs are the opened box in the last photo. Our eggs have no hormones, no antibiotics, they are cage free and get plenty of sun throughout the day, the chickens are all well loved and very well taken care of.

If you can, buy local from local Licensed Egg Handlers. Our prices will stay at $5.00 per dozen

First one with the guess of how many eggs I collected today in this bucket will get 2 dz eggs, once a week for 4 weeks. If that number is not guessed, the first one to guess the closest amount of eggs collected will get 1 dz eggs per week for 4 weeks.

Time to start guessing is now. Guessing ends on Thursday at 8pm.

Must be able to pick up or meet in town. Mariposa residents only.

We have over 200 chickens. Approximately 100 of them are laying age. The number in this bucket is between 1 - 100.
