It’s hard to believe how much has changed over the last two years.

From one small eating area, to adding the park, indoor dining, the pavilion and watching this place slowly become somewhere families gather every single weekend.

Honestly, one of the coolest parts has been watching first-time visitors become regulars and seeing people bring their friends and family back again and again.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer; it’s a reminder that our freedoms came at a cost paid by others. We are deeply thankful for the sacrifice of those who never made it home and for the families who carry that loss every day.

We’re grateful for the freedom to gather around a table, raise our families, run a small business, and enjoy simple moments together because of the courage of those who served.

Today we remember the fallen. 🇺🇸

Ok DMDers… what would you add to the list?

You come for one burger and leave with a freezer bundle. You don’t even need to look at the menu anymore. You say “we’ll just stop in real quick” and stay for 2 hours.

Ashley already starts writing your order when you walk in. You’ve brought at least 3 friends “because they just have to try it”. Your toddler thinks the park belongs to them. You plan your visits around the special.

You’ve convinced yourself fries cooked in beef tallow are basically healthy. You know the cows in the field and the people cooking your burger.

Thank you to all of our amazing customers! We truly love when the occasional visitor becomes a regular, and we never take that for granted. What started as a little family dream has become a place filled with familiar faces, conversations, friendships, and community.

Many of you have been asking about how Gram is doing, and we wanted to give a little update!

At almost 97 years old, she’s doing quite well, but she has taken a step back from being at the store as much and from handing out samples like she loves to do. If you’ve been around here long, you probably know Gram has been such a special part of this place and so many of your visits.

I know she would absolutely love hearing from all of you though, so if you’d like, leave a message for Gran in the comments and we’ll make sure she sees them. I can already imagine how much it would mean to her.

The meatball sub has one major flaw…

You can never take a normal bite without losing half the sandwich 😅

So we took our homemade DMD meatballs, smashed them flat on the grill, topped them with marinara and mozzarella, and created the Meatball Smash.

All the flavor of a classic meatball sub, but without the mess.
