Thank you to all our veterans today and always!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

🇺🇸🇺🇸 God Bless our Veterans!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

There are never enough words to express our deepest gratitude to our veterans and their families for the sacrifices made to protect this GREAT country of ours.

A simple thank you doesn’t seem to be the right thing to say to someone who is willing to leave their family and lives behind to protect their fellow countrymen and women. Your bravery, sacrifices and selflessness certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.

Until we find the right words to express our gratitude, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all our Veterans and their families on this day and always!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words… but this one speaks not in words, but in gratitude.

Ask any one of the five of us who our favorite cow is, and without hesitation, we’ll all say the same: 316—or as we affectionately call her, Big Mama.

She’s the gentlest soul, always seeking out human interaction, and making sure she gets her fair share of scratches. At 1,000+ pounds, she’s basically a giant puppy who refuses to be ignored. Even when we’re busy working, she’ll nudge her way into your space, insisting that your to-do list can wait just a little longer.

But Big Mama has always had one quirk—every year, she’s given us either a bull calf or twins, one of which is always a heifer that ends up sterile. So despite her being such a beloved part of the family, we’ve never been able to carry her bloodline forward in our herd.

Until now.

Yesterday, we tagged seven calves. The very last one? Big Mama’s. I think the whole family held their breath as I triple-checked… and sure enough, she had a little heifer.

Eighth time’s the charm in Big Mama’s case.

And it feels fitting that our girl is numbered 316. Because just like John 3:16 reminds us of the depth of love and the gift of new life, today we’re reminded again—sometimes, the wait makes the blessing all the sweeter.

After many requests from our beef customers, we've decided to add pasture-raised pigs to our farm!

After a lot of research, we chose a breed that aligns perfectly with our values and practices: Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPPs).

These pigs are a relatively new and unique breed developed specifically for pasture-based farming.

Here's why we love them:

*Developed in Idaho by crossing three heritage breeds: KuneKune, Duroc, and Old Berkshire

*Bred to thrive on pasture, grow efficiently, and maintain a calm, friendly demeanor

*Short, upturned snouts make them excellent grazers without excessive rooting

*Able to thrive on grass, helping reduce feed costs and support sustainability

*Known for their gentle temperament — ideal for small farms and families
Produce rich, red, marbled pork that’s flavorful and nutrient-dense

*Hardy and adaptable to various climates

To bring you the highest quality pork, we've invested in registered, young breeding stock. We're allowing our gilts (young females) to grow slowly and naturally, so we expect our first litter early next year, with pork available fall of 2026.

We know that’s a lot of info, but we’re so excited to share this new chapter with you! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions — we’re always happy to chat.

Farming is a grind. So, why do we keep at it?

We both work full-time jobs to support the farm, and sometimes it feels like the numbers just don't add up. It's natural to question why we invest so much time and money into keeping the farm running.

The answer is actually quite simple:

Our children.

And their future.

There's no pressure for them to take over the farm, but it would be wonderful if they chose to. If not, they will still gain invaluable life skills and knowledge from the farm that textbooks can’t teach. They already understand the value of hard work and the brevity of life, lessons that every farm kid likely learns firsthand. It’s a life lived like no other.

Recently, I watched our three kids working together hauling hay and my heart was so full. Our youngest was driving a tractor loading bales on wagons which the girls hauled to the barn for Andy to unload. They operated seamlessly as a team.

On a side note, I apparently lost my tractor to the kids and have been relegated to feeding the crew🤣🤣

Seeing them work together was a poignant reminder of why this farm is so important to our family and why we dedicate ourselves to it.

I’ll cherish these moments, knowing that someday, they will be the good old days. ❤️❤️❤️

Happy National Ag Day!

There’s always something inspiring about a sunrise or sunset around the farm. Either starting or wrapping up another hard day of work - I feel it’s God’s way of reminding us He is here with us while we care for His amazing work. We are grateful to answer the calling to be stewards of our land and animals.

Everyday around here is Ag Day!
