Finally I'm able to take a minute to write about this weekend's show Michigan Poultry Fanciers Fowl Fest in Chesaning. As I've said before it was our first time participating in an open show. Seeing new faces and familiar ones too immediately when we pulled up set us up for success. Thank you Happy peeps & sheep for giving us information on where to find show information. Thank you Cheeky Chicken Ranch for helping us navigate the show paperwork and all my questions. Condon Acres for being there to answer all our questions all weekend and explaining the coop in process. Thank you Sable’s Feathered Acres for introducing yourselves and figuring out how we've met before 🤣. Huge love for letting us know about the ribbons. We would have had no clue. Showcase Silkies all your videos are amazing. We love the information you share freely. After seeing Benninger Bantams multiple times we've finally formally introduced ourselves 🤣. Same goes for Ruthie May's Hobby Farm always there willing to answer anything.
It was so amazing to be in one spot with so many people who have the same passion for silkies. So many gorgeous birds. Good luck to everyone headed to Ohio nationals!

Excitedly waiting for some deliveries this coming week from Ark Field Farms , Showcase Silkies, Parallel 45 Homestead and surprise eBay score. Adding 6 Hands Homestead to the list too. Our first show turned our world of possibilities inside out. So many different avenues to take. Questioning which direction to grow. Rooting for the possibility of Satins and Satin frizzle. We've found a new love for them. How many times have we given satin frizzles away and steered clear of the possibility when buying hatching eggs. Live and learn as we go.

So exciting!!!

The coop cards are rolling off the printer and it looks like we are going to have great weather for our show this weekend! The setup should be mostly done on Thursday, hopefully Friday will be a nice, easy final preparation day.
We would like to wish all of our exhibitors and visitors safe and smooth travels. We have exhibitors coming from as far away as Arkansas, Lousiana, Maryland, Nebraska and Minnesota.
There are over 1300 birds entered, with open show Feather Leg, AOCCL, SCCL, RCCL, and Bantam Duck Classes over 100 entries each. Silkies and Call ducks alone account for over 100 each in the open show.
Amy Gabbard has volunteered to judge the yellow card junior show and Jake Wilson has volunteered to judge the blue card junior show.
Raffle table donations are always welcome.
