I almost missed these events. 🩹

Two days before our Gala Dinner event in New York, I accidentally cut my middle finger deeply while opening a can.

I cried.

Not because of the pain, but because I thought I would miss the events we had scheduled that week.

As a small business owner, every event matters. Every box, every order, every opportunity counts.

The photo on the left was taken during our PIDCI event this weekend.

The photo on the right was taken after the accident.

My finger is still swollen today.

But I showed up anyway.

And somehow, despite all the worries, we still sold out.

Sometimes, the moments people celebrate are also the moments that almost didn’t happen. 🤍

Hi, I’m Anya. 🤍

My baking journey started during the pandemic when I enrolled in a TESDA baking program as a scholar and received my very first oven and baking tools.

What began as curiosity quickly became a passion. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, and baking for my family, friends—especially my grandmother, who became one of my biggest inspirations.

A year later, I pursued formal pastry training at Apicius Culinary Arts & Hotel Management.

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and started ALABakeshop in the Philippines.

Today, ALABakeshop continues its journey in Connecticut, USA sharing Filipino desserts with both Filipino and non-Filipino communities across the Northeast.

What began with a small oven, a few baking tools, and a dream has grown into something I am incredibly grateful for today.
