So it begins, Willow was suddenly very interested in the fellows, much to her sadness she didn't get to meet an eligible bachelor because I dont like having lambs till the start of April but her milkshake certainly brought all the boys to the yard.

Obsessed with these goth chickens from Northland Poultry Preservation LLC, I got some Swedish Svarthona and Icelandic chickens from them and these chicks are becoming some of the coolest chickens we have had.

Is Snowdrop a funny kind of Moorit because of the Sweep markings or modified? She cute anyway.

We had an amazing time at the Mid-American Shetland Sheep Show! It was wonderful to hang out with friends, nerd out all weekend about sheep and wool and the quality of the sheep there was impressive. I always learn so much there and am very grateful to the judges and breeders who share knowledge.

I got 3rd and 4th for grey wool at the fleece show on Friday, very proud of Comfrey and Thistle's wool quality. It was my first time doing the fleece show and I was nervous about entering since I shear my own, and while I did not present my fleeces correctly (whoops) I learned so much and am very glad I did it.

On Saturday Gyda got 1st in showmanship with Stinky and 1st in costume class with Pepper. I'm very proud of her, she worked very hard with her lambs. She was the cutest flower and Pepper made a great bee. We also got 5th with pair of lambs (Aubergine and Garlic) The show was well run and is such a kind atmosphere with all having fun.

Gyda had so much fun showing that we stayed for the Sunday show too, Thistle took 4th in the Best Fleece on Hoof class and Garlic got 2nd in the very competitive Katmoget class. All our sheep were well behaved, although Gyda's lambs were definitely better than mine.

Can't wait to see everyone next year!

Behold the cuteness of Onion, she's one of my favorite lambs this year, even if she doesn't like me. Which is funny because BOTH of her parents think I'm pretty great (because I'm the food lady)
