Featuring the foundation
As it gets closer to sale day, we wanted to slow down and highlight the foundation that makes this offering possible.
And our final feature is:
🏍️PUMA🏍️
Pedigree: Promotion x Adele (Play It Cool x Nothing To Hide x Dirty Secret)
Service Sire: Blue Strips
Description: There is nothing secret about what the Promotion x Adele mating has done for our program. And you’ll see that influence throughout this sale. Puma is a gilt from the OG mating in 2024.
Hands down, my favorite piece of livestock we have ever had, let alone created. Puma most notably would have been named Grand Overall at Elkhart open in 2024. What makes her special is how she matured. Most of the time, the ones that were good in the crate don’t turnout. That’s not the case here. She was incredible from the crate and only got better with time. Her bone grew with her, her design is near flawless, and she has been one of the easiest and most flexible with the feed bucket. Puma is littermates to the second high-selling crossbred boar at Louisville and “Panther”. Also full sib to the Champion Cross & Reserve Grand Gilt Overall at Kosciusko Co. and Reserve Champion Middleweight Gilt at Kosciusko Co.
I have only dreamt of the day we would have one this special. Simply put, she was never for sale. I knew a pig like this couldn’t be bought with our checkbook, so that thought has never crossed my mind. Angles are perfect, dead square off both ends, bone density is unreal, and she is ultra comfortable when set into motion.
Puma is a very complete female who brings some extras to the table. I really wasn’t looking to change her a ton with my breeding plans, just make her better and offer some more punch. I wanted to make her taller at the point of her shoulder, better in the way she ties into ham/loin junction, and compound on the hard to make traits like front end, bone, and a good hip and hind leg. That’s why I bred her to Blue Strips and my expectations were blown. If you were to go all in and bet the entire farm on a pig, her litter would be the ones to do it! There’s only two things I’d change about them.
1. I wish there was more of them.
2. I wish I had room to keep them.
Her video makes her even better, and it’s in the comments.
