The last Downtown Milford Farmers' Market of the year is coming up this Saturday, October 17th, 8:30-12:30! Come by for our last hurrah (until next summer). We’ll have some special fall stuff like pumpkins, handmade flower brooms, weird gourds, you know, that kind of stuff. All the good stuff, and the weird stuff. Just how we like it.

Come to the spookiest farm in town and paint with us! We provide two mini pumpkins (grown by us, of course) and paint, brushes, etc., and guide you in creating your very own eerie skull and soul-seeing eyeball! (You can bring your own pumpkin if you have one you really want to paint.) Amaze your friends. Upgrade your creepy Halloween displays.

You come to the farmers’ market to try new stuff, right? Okay, so today at the Downtown Milford Farmers Market we’ll have sunchokes (I know it looks like ginger, it’s not ginger—although we’ll have some of that too)!

Sunchokes, also known as Jerusalem Artichokes, are the edible root tuber of a wild sunflower native to North America. They have a mild, nutty, earthy, sweetish flavor and can be eaten raw or cooked. And they’re high in iron, potassium, and fiber, plus prebiotic inulin (a complex carbohydrate that feeds healthy gut bacteria instead of breaking down into simple sugars).

So come on down to the Downtown Milford Farmers Market today, Saturday, 8:30-12:30. We’ll have sunchokes and other cool stuff until we run out.

Due to predicted high winds and rain and maybe a whole nor’easter, the Downtown Milford Farmers Market is canceled on Saturday, September 26th.

If the weather lets up on Sunday, our farmstand will be open 1-4.

And otherwise we’ll see you next week, usual time, usual place.
