Big news — Canter & Co. is headed to the Clinton County Fair! 🐴

We are so excited to be set up near the livestock exhibits August 1st-8th and we wanted to make sure the 4H community is taken care of while we are there.

We do not normally carry supplies for animals other than horses but this year we are stocking up on supplies for swine, goat, sheep, and cattle — including Weaver Livestock products and more.

Want to make sure we have exactly what you need? You can pre-order any supplies including clippers, blades, and poultry supplies before the deadline of Tuesday July 28th and we will have everything ready for you at our trailer on the fairgrounds. A deposit will be required for pre-orders.

💥Still searching for your winter pigs? Or maybe you haven’t started looking yet? 🫣

🔥We’ve been busy this summer to say the least & we don’t have time for an online sale. We have a solid selection of male pigs to fit your PAYLE/ Farmshow needs (for our PA peeps) or any December-February shows for those out of state!

We’re selling straight out of the barn this summer, no need to save the date 📆 or set an alarm ⏰ for an online sale or stay up so late waiting for extended bidding to finally end 😴

We’re located less than 2 miles from I-80 & close to some larger firms here in Pennsylvania. If you’re around shopping for pigs, come take a look!

🐷 Fair Season Check-In! 🐷
We hope everyone is enjoying the journey with their show pigs! As fair season approaches, consistency is what separates good from great. Here's a quick checklist to help keep your project on track:

✅ Rinse your pig daily, especially after walks or on hot days.
🛁 Wash 2–3 times per week using a quality shampoo to keep their skin and hair healthy.
🚶 Walk every day to build muscle, stamina, and ring presence.
🪮 Brush daily to stimulate hair growth and train the hair to lay correctly.
⚖️ Weigh your pig to make sure they're on track for your target fair weight and adjust feed as needed—as a side note bigger IS NOT always better.
💊 Stay on schedule with worming and other health maintenance, there are withdrawl periods on medications!
💧 Keep plenty of fresh, clean water available at all times.
🌾 Monitor feed intake—consistency is key, and sudden changes can signal a problem.
🌡️ Watch for any signs of illness, lameness, or skin issues, and address them early.
🛏️ Keep pens clean, dry, and comfortable to help your pig stay healthy and perform their best.
🧡 Most importantly, spend time with your pig every day. The more they're handled and worked with, the more comfortable and confident they'll be in the show ring.
