St. Romedius Wine

St. Romedius Wine Producers and purveyors of hand crafted, thoughtfully produced, small production wines. Who Are We? St. Who is St. Romedius? Instead of killing the bear St.

Romedius Wine was started by a husband and wife team who met while living abroad and fell in love while traveling and discovering amazing food and wine. This project is their way of sharing their passion for wine, food, travel, and anything else that's fun. Romedius began his life as a son of a nobleman in Austria in the 4th century. He spent most of his time hanging out, alone, meditating in cave

s. After his parents died and he gave away all of his possessions, he embarked on a trip across the alps to visit a friend from his childhood, the Bishop of Trento in Northern Italy. Along the way his horse was attacked and torn apart by a bear. Romedius threw a saddle on it's back and rode him the rest of the way to Trento. This story, aside from being pretty bad ass, is a symbol of our approach to winemaking. By "taming" these grapes through the act of sustainable viticulture and thoughtful winemaking, we take something that at first might be a bit too rough and wild, and guide it into being an approachable, elegant expression of a small patch of mother earth.

Last week we topped off the Lone Oak Chardonnay barrel fermentation. Made the whole cellar smell like green apples 🍏. The aromas drifting through the cellar this time of year are next level.

Sept 12th marked the first day of the 2025 harvest for St. Romedius Wine. We started with some Old Wente clone Chardonnay out of Lone Oak Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. This is also the first fruit crushed at our new home in St. Helena, smack dab in the heart of the Napa Valley.

On Friday we crushed our first fruit of the 2025 vintage! We brought in some beautiful Chardonnay from Lone Oak Vineyard out in the Russian River Valley. The fruit is Old Wente clone planted 35+ years ago. This vineyard has been the source for some of the most highly rated wines over the past decade. We’re super excited to see how this wine turns out!

You may have noticed we haven’t been very active lately on IG. There’s been a lot going on the past few months. I’ve been helping my wife with a huge project (you may have heard about it on KQED or in the paper) to bring more childcare to Napa. We had to relocate all of our case goods to a new warehouse during harvest, and finally today after 7 years at Falcor Wine Cellars we had to move the winery to a new production facility. This new facility, in the heart of Napa Valley, right on Silverado Trail, allows us to host guests for tastings onsite! We’re really excited and we’re hoping to be able to welcome you as early as the Spring for private tastings. 2025 is going to be the start of a new chapter for St. Romedius! Follow us to see what this year is going to bring.
