Lonely Oak Farm

Lonely Oak Farm Lonely Oak Farm raises sheep, beef cattle, hogs, chickens, fruits, and vegetables using organic methods. Community Supported Agriculture shares available.

We also serve brunch on the farm every Sunday from Mother’s Day through the end of October. Lonely Oak Farm is a transitional organic farm located in the heart of the Mead Wildlife Area in central Wisconsin. On our 80 acres we rotationally graze almost 200 head of sheep, 200 laying hens, a small beef herd, a few pigs, grow wheat for animal feed and flour, hay, and grow 6 acres of vegetables. In ad

dition to farming, an on-farm licensed kitchen is used for canning and for preparing eggs for resale at a small local natural food store. Our products are sold off the farm, at the Steven Point Farmer’s Market, several restaurants, at a natural foods stores, and our CSA program. A wide variety of sustainable techniques are utilized resulting in high quality products that are raised in harmony with the natural surroundings of the farm. Two part time employees work at our farm, and many other community members consider Lonely Oak to be their personal connection to their food and natural landscape—a connection we are honored to facilitate.

This menu took some effort! Each week, Becky mixes up our ground pork with herbs from the farm to make our sausage. We're taking that sausage with a white sauce and serving it over a cornmeal waffle and topping it with gouda cheese curds. Brazilian Black Bean Stew is beans simmered with coriander, cumin, oregano, garlic, and onion combined with brown rice and smoked pork hocks from our own hogs.

Some of the 5 million bees swarmed. I'd like to think the bees are so happy and well fed here that they keep splitting!
