Tomorrow starts the last weekend of the 2026 Maple Festival! Be sure to stop by Duff's Sugarhouse to see us. We still have plenty of products to sell and there are free syrup samples for everybody, homemade ice cream which you can drizzle our "dangerous" Salted-Cob Syrup on, and plenty of hot food. We have our signature BBQ, chilli, and hotdogs along with our new Highlander Sliders, which are hot ham and swiss sliders with a maple infused ground mustard.

We are looking forward to seeing y'all at the farm!

Come and see JoJo's Creations and Jeb's Hides at Duff's Sugarhouse this Saturday!

JoJo is selling her hand crocheted stuffed animals and other items; and Jeb is selling his tanned deer, fox, squirrel and rabbit hides along with some of his mountain paintings.

Maple Festival is only 1 week away!

Where has the time gone? It's hard to believe that here we are again preparing for one of the best family oriented events in Virginia!

We at Crooked Spur Farm are looking forward to providing you with the same great things and more that many of you have come to love at Duff's Sugarhouse. We will have our very own smoked BBQ, Chilli, Hotdogs, and fixins; free syrup sampling of our signature syrups, including plenty of Sorghum Molasses; our 1935 John Deere making ice cream or grits; music by local artist David Wayne; and so much more that your family will love.

Come and see some of the most beautiful scenery in the state and get a tour from the one and only Tim Duff, who will show you how Maple Syrup was produced in the 19th century! This is a hands-on event and there is truly something here on this farm for everyone.

Remember the dates for Highland County Maple Festival will be March 14-15 and 21-22.

Salted-Cob Syrup back in stock!

This is our newest syrup, which was our best seller and sold all we had at the Highland County Maple Festival. Our customers say it tastes like kettle corn or salted caramel, and it is dangerous on vanilla ice cream.

I just wanted to thank all of you that came out to support us over the two weekends of the Maple Festival. It was great seeing some old friends and making many new friends! We had a great time and I hope y'all did as well. Our new Salted-Cob Syrup was a complete success, as we sold out completely on the second Saturday! We should have some back in stock in the next couple of weeks if you need a refill. Hopefully we will see you at the next event!

Don't miss out on the last weekend of the Maple Festival! Saturday looks to be warm with no rain.

Our newest syrup, Salted-Cob, was definitely a hit last weekend and was our top seller. Be sure to stop by and sample some.

We will also be serving hot food on Saturday (BBQ, Chilli, Hotdogs), and the very talented David Wayne will be performing from 11-2. We have some tables and chairs set up so you can enjoy your meal while listening to David sing some of your favorite country songs.

It's Maple Festival time!

Come see us at the Highland County Maple Festival this weekend and next weekend! March 8-9, and 15-16.
We will be at Sugar Camp #4 - Fair Lawn Farm (Duff's Sugar House) located at 3118 Mill Gap Rd, Monterey VA 24465.

Come see maple syrup made the old fashioned way, taste fresh sugar water right out of the tree, and see us grinding fresh grits and cornmeal, from our Bloody Butcher Corn, with our mill that is powered by a 1935 John Deere hit'n miss engine. We will have plenty of free syrup samples, so you can taste the goodness before you make your purchase. We will be introducing a brand new variety of syrup, Salted-Cob Syrup. This new syrup tastes like salted caramel or kettlecorn and is dangerous on ice-cream.

Come hungry!!! We will also be serving smoked BBQ seasoned with our sorghum molasses and spices, hot water cornbread made from our bloody butcher corn, chili, and hotdogs. We have plenty of tables for you to sit and enjoy your meal while taking in the majestic scenery that will refresh your soul.

We will also have a guest singer David Wayne with us, who will be performing from 11 to 2 on Saturday.

This is a great family friendly event with lots of fun stuff to do and learn. Once you get to the farm, stay a spell and take your time enjoying yourself with family and friends.

Tomorrow starts the last weekend of the 2024 Highland County Maple Festival. The weather is supposed to be sunny with temperatures in the 50s and 60s! We will be set up at Fair Lawn Farm (Duff's Sugarhouse) at:
3118 Mill Gap Rd.
Monterey, VA 24465

Tomorrow only, we will have plenty of smoked BBQ, cornbread, chili, hot dogs, drinks, chips, maple cinnamon rolls, sorghum molasses cookies, and chocolate chip cookies. We will also have hot hickory tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.

While you are here, taste samples of our Dandelion Syrup, Hickory Syrup, Maple Syrup, Corncob Syrup, and Sorghum Molasses. We will also have plenty of our very own Hickory Fudge; Maple Candy; Bloody Butcher Grits, Cornmeal, and Cornmeal Breader.

Since we will be having beautiful weather, we will be grinding our Bloody Butcher Corn with our 1935 John Deere hit and miss engine. A must see with a peak into the olden days.
