Springhill Farms Coosada, Alabama Springhill Farms is located in the small town of Coosada, Alabama, just a short drive from Montgomery, Prattville and Wetumpka.

We raise commercial and registered Brangus cattle, flowers, hay, corn and timber.

This is a sad, sad post to makešŸ˜„ We are closed for the season.

I just walked the field and did a count, we have some on the brink of picking, but not enough to justify opening for U-Pick. So, our season is officially closed, unless we have late bloomers that havenā€™t started coming up.

Due to the heat, or just bad bulbs, we lost about 500. (Ones that came up and didnā€™t fully bloom).

We always estimate about 25% just not blooming (to be on the safe side).

Again, thank you for all of your excitement and support. We hope to continue to grow every year! ā¤ļøšŸŒ·ā¤ļø

Good morning!! For someone who knows EVERYTHING, when it comes to Tulips I find my self repeating ā€œIā€™m not sureā€! šŸ«£

-Will we open today or tomorrow?

Iā€™m not sure yet. Iā€™m going to give our buds a little more time to open/show color this morning and will have an update by noon.

-How long will the tulips I pick last?

Iā€™m not sure. It really all depends on the stage you picked them and how you care for them. For the longest vase life you will want to pick tulips that are showing some color but are still closed up. I had one that was bloomed when picked that lasted for a week and 1/2. I have others that have lasted shorter time, or just a few days.

Below is an exampleā€¦I had a lot of questions about ā€œare these ready yetā€ yesterday. The best I could tell them is Iā€™m not sureā€¦itā€™s probably 50/50. These were all closed yesterday and showing some color. You can see all but one has opened up. I know one, not which one, was laying out in the field due to being trampled on. It could be that it didnā€™t get in water soon enough, or that it just wasnā€™t readyšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø, Iā€™m not sure!ā¤ļøšŸŒ·ā¤ļø

Hi All! We are ready to open back up tomorrowā¤ļøšŸŒ·ā¤ļø Noon-Until!!

Story Time! This beautiful Tulip was picked Tuesday afternoon. I have a love for different and unique items and treasures, and wish I knew their ā€œstoryā€ā€¦so hereā€™s mine! This very unique vase was being sold at an estate sale in Selma. I think the lady was my spirit animal. I had soooo many items on my list that I made my mom and sister be first in line with me so we could divide and conquer, I had everything mapped outšŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Iā€™m pretty sure a few of my flower baskets were purchased there as well! There were two bulb vases, I let my mom take her twinšŸ™„šŸŒ·ā¤ļøšŸŒ·

Our next opening day will be on Thursday, tenatively.

A couple questions Iā€™m getting a lotā€¦

1. Cost-$5 car entry fee and $2 per stem

2. Will you be open on mm/dd day?

Unfortunately With Tulips you can never predict. The weather and amount of customers that come out play a huge part in being able to answer that question! We will update our page daily, or you can just text me and ask!

Also, we are VERY SMALL! If you come out and donā€™t see a field of color, I can assure you that I wouldnā€™t open if there is nothing to pick!

Finally, the photo below are of tulips I picked up off the ground yesterday. If you come to pick and you donā€™t like the length or color, then I will gladly keep them for myself and not charge you for them! I wait until the very end to pick for myself, so would love to enjoy them in my home rather than them being discarded!! ā¤ļøšŸŒ·ā¤ļø
