Now that we have caught up a bit and not so crazy here are some pictures of our trip to Grand Island for Gelbvieh junior nationals. Rhett and Landon both walked away with some hardware and we got to catch up with some old friends and make new ones. Next year Gelbvieh Junior nationals is in Huron, sd and we will have sibs to these females selling on our fall sale September 23rd!

Anybody still looking for a good bull we have two available the red bull is a april yearling purebred Gelbvieh and the baldy is a may yearling purebred Simmental. One thing all us breeders talk a lot about is cow families or sires etc when it comes to a bull or heifer we are selling and tonight when I was getting a new calf in the barn I looked at the dams tag number (D6272) and went dam that’s impressive to be 10 years old and still look that good and still have a awesome bag. Then when I went in the barn I had to say dam again because D266 calved yesterday with twins and same thing and is taking care of both calves. It hit me out of the blue the ages on these two females that they are both 10 years old and still doing awesome with no signs of slowing down. So long rant short it’s not something we do t talk about enough with terms of longevity but I personally think it’s very important especially these days when your investment will last for years instead of a year or two.

HOJ N553 is a really young calf that we couldn’t cut because he was just so dam good. This May born calf has been a standout since day one and the common phrase Jess heard all summer long from me was I wish he was two months older. His half brother was reserve champion and high selling Simmental at Watertown winter farm show and I think this guy has a chance to be even better. Huge topped, big b***d, lots of muscle, lots of eye appeal, has that extra white for baldy lovers, and I forgot to mention he’s out of a first calf heifer with a birthweight weight of 77 Lbs!
