April - May
We’re doing a 2 for 1 post and We’ll start with showing a recent photo of peonies just because. Now to go back in time It’s interesting seeing where the garden was in April (following few photos) we were just tilling and laying the first landscape fabric down. We were pulling tulips, and suddenly April was done and we went into May which was a warmer Mother’s Day then we’ve had in 3 years, it was the first one since I started doing flowers that we didn’t have snow that weekend, it’s also slowly lead us into this very dry spell which we won’t talk about right now, we’ll see how June ends and I’m I’ll sure touch on it then. We laid out landscape fabric in all the beds (minus the back 14 which we’re hoping to eventually put peonies in) and somehow by May 31st we had everything in the ground. Not pictured is the fact that we’re now putting flowers

March + 3 days⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ March is over! I can’t believe we’ve turned the calendar page over to April. Im looking forward to the warmer days that will slowly make an appearance as the month goes on. March was full of bouquets with very few pictures taken, I did manage to find a few to put in the March post. At the end of March there was finally daffodils and some hellebore ready to be put in bouquets! It’s always exciting getting to go out and pick some of the flowers that will be in the bouquets. I pulled out all my dahlia tubers, before realizing I might be rushing them a bit at waking up and decided to hold off another two weeks before I wake them up, which meant dragging them all back into the cooler. March was when we finally got into the new garden section and started marking off rows, the next step in April will be getting them ready to plant, maybe this year we’ll actually be ahead from where we usually are by Mother’s Day?
Fingers crossed.

February + 15 days
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I laughed when I wrote that out and thought about not doing a photo update for February, but in the end my goal is to have an update to look back on that followed each month.
February was not interesting as far as flowers go, it felt like 1/3 of it was Valentines prep, 2/3 Valentine’s Day and the rest was getting ready for our Belize 🇧🇿 trip. Which also went into March. I might include some more photos of our trip in the March (who are we kidding, April.) post. It was wonderful to get away and found it harder to get back into work mode after this trip, maybe adding a toddler in the mix changed that? But we are back, I do feel it helped my creativity and design with flowers, which I’m trying to photo document to have content for the March update. I did calculate to see how much larger the new garden space is then the old. 😳 I was shocked, I knew it was bigger but something about seeing the percentages made it very clear. Which is most of March’s goal, finish planning out the space and get beds prepped.
