There are definitely benefits to raising your first 4-H steer from a calf. The bad thing is that you can become really attached, especially if they are well behaved. Diego was a good boy and win or lose, he was a 1300 pound puppy dog and was easy to work with.

Morning chore time and both little heifers were just laying down by their mommas. We are lucky to have cow mammas that do such a good job.

Didn’t know if anyone would be interested in a June 14, 2025 show steer. He will be shown at the Elkhart County Fair end of this month, and potentially at the Indiana State Fair. I’ve been told his birthdate would make him eligible for shows in 2027. Weighed 715 lbs on June 27th (just over year old). We would love to see him compete with someone who has time and wants to show him. Let me know!

Our two little girls continue to grow & thrive. I think they're enjoying these cool summer temps as well.

The cows love it when I open up our little side pasture. Just open the gates and they know where to go! Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!
