On Thursday of the fair Violet and I competed in the draft pony walk trot class. We were so fortunate my dear friend Kimmy of Kimberly Balaj Photography was there and able to capture these lovely photos. So proud of Violet and Ali in their first class together.

Our Fell Pony, Ritzy, had her first show experience at the Lorain County Fair a few weeks ago! She was shown by our friends at Kuchenrither Fell Ponies who currently have her on a lease! Ritzy did great, winning in several classes!
Huge thanks to the Archer family for taking such great care of her!

We received some very important mail today!! After 2 years of planning, waiting, hoping, and hard work we finally have the first two passports with our Prefix!

For those that don’t know about Fell Ponies. When you begin as a breeder, you have to register your farm with a prefix, this name will then be on all foals born and registered here. The booklets you see here is a passport- issued by the Fell Pony Society in England when the foal is registered and will follow the pony with their micro chip number wherever they go. In it is their history- breeder, previous owners, vaccinations etc.

One of the coolest things about our farm is that our tree line is a roosting area for migrating monarch butterflies! Hard to capture on video but such a neat experience.

Howie and Eliza went for a snack and stroll this afternoon too! They were loving meeting new people at the fair!

When your girl finds a back scratcher in the freebie barn, you are more than happy to let her use it! Ritzy loves Rosie

Today was a big accomplishment for Violet and Ali, their first riding class together! Both were a little nervous in the big (and loud) covered arena. But they did a great job and learned a lot. So proud of the two of them! Next year she said she will beat me 🤣

Yesterday our driving class did not go according to plan, the ponies were not impressed with the grandstands so we decided to scratch and do some more practicing at home.

After some much needed rest, a recap on yesterday.
We knew it was going to be interesting when in my first class with Yohann the judge came up to me and said “Whoa, he is really cool! What is he?” 🤣

Lily(with Greenholme Peggy), Violet (with DakotaFell Ali),Rosie (with Dreamhayven Spy Mistress) and Reid (with DakotaFell Ali) all participated in showmanship. The kids did well with their ponies despite none of them had shown before in the arena we were in. A little nerves for kids and ponies alike!

Against my better judgement I let my friend Beth convince me to go into Adult Showmanship- a huge class and neither of us placed ha ha!

I won’t bore you with the specifics of each class, but our most exciting achievements were Yohann getting reserve Champion Stallion/Gelding and Ritzy was Grand Champion Mare as well as Grand Champion Draft pony! The judge was very complimentary of all of the ponies, saying they were very proportional and conformationally correct.

The babies were super relaxed and Howie even fell asleep waiting for his class. Gregory did well in his class of one!

Our dear friends Summer and Jonathan Mast from Eden Acres joined us to watch Rosie show Ritzy.

As always we have the best cheering section filled with our family and friends!

Please enjoy the lovely photos taken by our family and Jenny Norton!

We had a great day at the fair! Our friends at Kuchenrither Fell Ponies were showing their beautiful Fell Ponies so we jumped at the opportunity to go watch them!
They have our mare, Ritzy, on lease & she scored Grand Champion in her halter class & Supreme Reserve Halter Champion overall! Drop a comment if you love fair days!
