Our crew had a great week at the Dutchess County Fair! 🐄🎡

One of the biggest highlights came from five-year-old Adeline McEnroe and our very own Holstein heifer, Daisy Duck, who took home Grand Champion in the Cow Costume Contest! 🏆

Adeline and Daisy went all in on a KPop Demon Hunters-inspired costume, making for a pretty memorable trip into the ring — and an even better finish!

Daisy also had a great showing during the week, taking home a ribbon in the show ring. 🎀

A great week at the fair, and we couldn’t be prouder of Adeline and Daisy! 🐄🏆

This past week CPCA staff and families from our Supportive Parenting Program had the pleasure of touring McEnroe Organic Farms in Millerton, NY. Our families learned all about the process of growing healthy foods and even got to plant and take home herbs of their own to nourish and grow! Thank you so much to McEnroe farms for having us 💙🚜🌾

A little appreciation for the crew behind the compost. 👏

From turning windrows to running loaders and blending up orders, our compost team puts in a lot of hard work every day to keep the operation running smoothly.

A big shoutout to Diaz, Dante, Colin, and Jeff for their dedication, long days, and all the work that goes into producing our compost and soils.

A few members of our team had the opportunity to take a couple of inspiring field trips last week—connecting with fellow growers, learning from peers, and bringing home fresh ideas. 🌱

Our first stop was the New York State Flower Industries (NYSFI) Tour & Annual Meeting, which began at the Burpee Trial Garden at Bard College. There, we learned about ongoing trials evaluating climate-resilient plant varieties before continuing to the impressive Mark & Sue Adams Greenhouse Complex in Poughkeepsie. Members also had the chance to vote on new flower introductions being considered for Adams Fairacre Farms, Inc. 2027 greenhouse lineup—a fun preview of what may be blooming in local garden centers next season.

Later in the week, we visited Stonewood Farm in Millbrook to learn more about their regenerative farming practices and the important role small farms play in supporting resilient local food systems. The day was capped off with an incredible farm-fresh lunch prepared by their team.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed us, shared their knowledge, and made for two very memorable days.
