I love ratatouille this time of year. The best and classic match is high quality dry rosé. This year my favorite and best rosé is Alpha from Greece. The Greeks make a version of ratatouille called Briami. The major differences are the addition of potatoes and the use of oregano and parsley in the Briami versus dried basil and thyme in the French. Yummy pairing. $24.99.

Ham and cheese on VEAL!?!?!?

aka Costoletta alla Valdostana. The original stuffed breaded veal chop.
I posted this wine a few weeks ago and a Chef friend promised me the original stuffed veal chop when he got some great Fontina cheese from Val d'Aosta in.
The pairing was brilliant. The leftovers were brillianter. The wine is $29.99

The sauce is the boss. One of the toughest sauces to pair with wine is pesto. Last night I had fresh pesto, basil picked in the morning, with chicken fresh tomatoes and spinach over penne. Scrumptious. So it took 53 years but finally found a match for pesto. $19.99 Enjoy

Yesterday was National Filet Mignon day. If there was ever a cut of meat that needs a sauce it's that. My favorite sauce is Gorgonzola Cream or any blue cheese sauce.
Yesterday I had Germany's best blue cheese on a charcuterie board, Cambozola, with this Italian red wine. It was magical!
I can't wait to have steak and Gorgonzola cream sauce with my steak tonight. $16.99 . It's a steal with a steak. Marinated tips work great too. I opened the bottle two hours before serving.

Can you yodel? Country or Alpine, either is fine.
High up in the Italian Alps where French is the native tongue are some deliciously different wines. Many years they don't ripen enough, but with warmer years lately, you can find some fascinating wine.
Tourette from GROSJEAN is a middleweight wine that has fabulous sweet to***co flavors in a combo with wild blackberry flavors. Had it the other night with a pork chop and it Yodeled. $29.99
The Valle d'Aoste is famous for Fontina cheese. A great pairing

Picpoul de Pinet! The favorite dry white for summer in the South of France. $19.99
This is the best batch I've had in years. Quaffed it last night with non winey friends and they loved it. Hints of lemon and lime in a middleweight wine. Kinda sorta like the Sprite of wine. No bubbles, no sweet. Had it multiple times in France with fresh fish in lemon butter sauce. Brilliant.
Fun to say too.
