✨ Dairy Month ✨
June is dairy month! Although Hunter is not a dairy farmer… Kait on the other hand loves the dairy industry & she currently works in a 24 hour automatic robotic dairy farm close to home with 200+ head.
But they also have a life long dairy farmer in the family… the one & only -Wayne Vandine.
Kait’s grandfather, Wayne, owns and operates his dairy farm along with his seed business of 50+ yrs! Of course this wouldn’t be possible without his wife Ruth by his side.
✨ Wayne has five out of six dairy breeds on his operation that are milked - Jersey, Holstein, Ayrshire, Brown Swiss & Guernsey!
Here are some interesting facts about milk
🥛 PA ranks 2nd in the nation for the number of dairy farms and 8th in total milk production nationally!
🥛One 8-ounce serving of whole milk delivers 13 essential nutrients including 8 grams of protein!
🥛Each dairy cow produces about 6-8 gallons of milk each day and is milked 2-3 times per day!
