Tomato starts available this week! Working on labeling the rest today. Organic seeds, soil, and fertilizer were used! $3 each.

Indeterminate varieties available: Brandywine, Queen of hearts, Tiffen Mennonite, Black Cherry.

Drop off available between Berryville and Lovettsville Wednesday with minimum purchase of 3 starts. Pickup Monday - Thursday after 4:30 in Bluemont.

Kielbasa and Fried Cabbage😋

✅ Directions
1 1/2 pkgs of kielbasa ⠀
About 4 cups of rough cut green cabbage ⠀
10 strips of bacon chopped⠀
1 small red onion⠀
Pink Salt and Peppercorn⠀
Butter⠀
⠀
Heat up that cast iron !!! ⠀
⠀
1) Get the bacon fried up. We just fry a whole pkg.⠀
2) While the bacon is frying, slice kielbasa into 1/4" or so chunks, rough chop onion.⠀
3) Drain the skillet but leave a bottom full of bacon fat.⠀
3) Dump in the kielbasa and onions. Fry to get good color then put aside on a paper plate. While the kielbasa is frying , rough cut the cabbage.⠀
4) When kielbasa is done, add a tbsp of butter to skillet, deglaze the bottom and dump in the cabbage . Add Pink Salt and Peppercorn to taste.Fry on med high heat mixing with tongs. ⠀
5) When cabbage is tender , turn heat to med add the kielbasa on top and mix in. Add the chopped bacon, stir in and turn off heat. Let sit 10 minutes then serve... Almost hump day Brawnies !!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Curing potatoes 🥔

We’ve officially started selling from our little farm. So far, we’ve sold potatoes and chicken eggs. Soon, we’ll be selling cucumbers and other produce. I’ve sent out our first pork share price sheet and am looking forward to hearing back. It might sound silly, but we got a tip on our last potato purchase from someone who really likes potatoes and we definitely got excited. It’s so cool that our customers are happy (and coming back for more)!!

Next year, we’ll be able to offer duck eggs, too.

Big day today!

We picked up Charlie, a double wattled Kune Kune boarling. He completes our first breeding pair. He is not of age yet, but will be this fall.

Yesterday, the kids helped Jimmy mound 4 rows for strawberries. I got 15 planted after we got Charlie settled. Just have about 160 more to go now!
