It may have snowed today, but don’t let that fool you — it’s officially calving season, and spring is in the air here at the farm!

The grass is starting to think about turning green, the days are stretching a little longer, and the barn is full of brand-new life.

This time of year keeps us on our toes with early mornings, late-night checks, and lots of proud mama cows. Snow or sunshine, these babies are our sure sign that warmer days are on the way.

Spring on the farm doesn’t wait for perfect weather — and neither do the calves!

So far we are 4 for 4 on heifers between our beef and dairy herds. With another approximately 20 cows do in the next 8 weeks, we will see if the boys can catch up.

Four years ago today, we sold our first gallons of Flatrock Creamery creamline milk with a dream, a lot of hope, and honestly… no real idea how hard it would be. Owning a small business has tested us in ways we never expected—long days, late nights, tough decisions, sacrifices, and moments where giving up felt easier than pushing forward. But through every challenge, we’ve also had the incredible gift of living our passion, doing what we love, and building something that feels deeply personal and meaningful.

To our customers: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every glass of milk you’ve enjoyed, every kind word, share, and moment of support has kept us going more than you know. You are the reason Flatrock Creamery exists, and we are endlessly grateful to be part of this community. Here’s to four years—and to many more!

After two years of blood, sweat, and tears Flatrock Creamery is officially selling milk! The whole milk is pasteurized for consumer safety but it is not homogenized so the cream will rise to the top! Be sure to pick up your farm fresh milk from Troyer’s Country store with more stores coming soon!

You can now find Flatrock Creamery creamline whole milk at Creekside Farm Stop LLC!

I think we are addicted! We got the first delivery from Flatrock Creamery and the milk is amazing. I had cereal for lunch today just so I could have some more. We have a very small cooler at this time, so supply is limited, but chocolate and white milk will be available in a few different sizes.
We will also be providing free samples on Saturday while supplies last!

When Mom decides to calve in the farthest corner of the pasture, baby girl gets to ride in style to the barn! Both Mom and baby are doing great, and we greatly appreciate Lisa (Mom) calving before the rain!
