The weather isn’t looking great. If it’s raining hard, I may have to adjust how we do pick ups. My little egg stand wasn’t exactly built for bread on rainy days. I’ll share updates if necessary, but I will be baking no matter what! I might have to start looking for a bigger, weather friendly bread shed soon!

SCONES!

Scone sales during our Saturday Bread Stand have been very inconsistent. Sometimes we sell our fast and other times I have half left at the end of the weekend. Unfortunately, the profit margin on these isn’t great enough to have half not sell. If I have bread leftover, I can easily slice and freeze it for our family to use. That doesn’t really work for scones, so they go to waste.

So….

I will make fewer scones this coming Saturday.

BUT……
I’m happy to make more if you pre-order!
If you know you want to purchase scones this Saturday, I will gladly make them for you. Please let me know by Thursday night if you would like a 4 pack of Blueberry Lemon or Espresso Chocolate Chip scones.

I will still have some scones available in the stand for folks who don’t pre-order, I just won’t have as many as I’ve had in the past.

OPENING EARLY THIS SATURDAY!!

A little note — I am attending a very special event Saturday morning (more about this in a future post). I typically bake bright and early on Saturdays. This week I have adjusted my bake schedule to be able to attend this week event, which means I’ll be baking this afternoon, late this evening and some things tomorrow morning. I just want to be transparent because I don’t usually like to bake the day before. BUT, this means two things — 1. The stand will be open at 9AM instead of noon! 2. I will have some bread available this evening (Friday) if anyone wants to grab one early. Sorry, scones and focaccia won’t be ready until the morning. Just reach out to arrange a pick up.

Thank you for all the support the last few weeks. It means a lot. I love baking for you. 💛

‼️NEW — Pre-orders are now available for the Saturday bread stand at Stemple Family Farm! ‼️

We are using an online pre-order platform called Hotplate to offer customers the option of ordering and reserving their items ahead of time.

Pre-orders are NOT required, but are recommended.
I will still have some of our products available for people who just stop by the day of without pre-ordering, but you aren’t guaranteed to find what you are looking for!

Pre-orders went live this week on Tuesday at 1PM and will close on Thursday at 6PM.
All orders placed during this window are for pick up in the roadside stand on Saturday, June 6th from 12-7PM

This is new for me. I’ve tested the platform quite a bit, but if you run into any problems, please text or call 802-233-5792, so that we can work out the kinks together. In fact, for this first week, I wouldn’t mind if you reach out to confirm I received your order just to make sure things are operating correctly.

A note about fees — Hotplate does charge additional small fees. One fee is charged to the business (credit card processing) which does not impact you. I take the hit on this fee. The second fee (Hotplate fee) is added to the customer total, which does impact you. All fees are visible during checkout. I hate this part, but it’s the reality of the world we live in today. Venmo also takes a small amount from us for every business transaction. Luckily, they don’t add fees to you, the customer.
