Project books are due soon! Need some help completing your project book? Please plan on attending our A-Z Horsemanship Clinic on Saturday, 25. We will be meeting at Spirit Stables in East Milton. The clinic is from 9-12. We will be completing most of the "horse" activities in the "Love a Horse" Program If you complete all the activities it counts as 2 Project books completed. We will be labeling horses, contrasting/comparing different types of saddles and appropriate dress for diffent kinds of riding, learning about gaits as well as uses of different kinds of bits. We will also be learning about grooming tools and keeping horses healthy. It should be a great day for everyone.
We will have a lunch at 12 and then at 1 begin some riding practice/demonstrations so students working on horsemanship levels 1-3 can get their riding checked off and other aspects that they will need to do for various levels modeled and demonstrated so they can practice at home. We will have horses available that students may use or you can bring your own. Just contact Ms. Wendy so arrangements can be made for your horse. If you live in East Milton, you may consider going home after the clinic and picking up your horse and bringing back as only a few horses will be used for clinic demos. Please DONT FORGET YOUR HELMETS!!!. We will have helmets available. If you plan to participate in the riding evals and practice come prepared.
I also have made copies of the Love a Horse project sheets and the Horse and Horsemanship workbooks. You can download them off of sarasota 4h for free or you can get a copy from me for $5 per project book. Don't hesitate to call me if you need directions or have any questions regarding this event.
