Our Prairie Breeze gets lots of attention, so we wanted to shine some light on our Morning Harvest. Morning Harvest is an American Original upon first taste, you’ll find notes of sweet cream and buttered popcorn with a lovely lingering finish. Aged for at least 7 months, it is firm yet sliceable in texture with superb meltability similar to that of a Havarti or Fontina.

Pairs well with fresh or dried fruits, and is excellent choice to add to your sourdough bread. Have you tried Morning Harvest?

Summertime has a way of making life feel busier than ever… but good news: cheese counts as a quick meal. 😉

Have you tried Tomato Garlic Cheddar? It is such a versatile cheese with amazing flavor.

Board Builders: this cheese gives your charcuterie board color and lots of flavor but not overwhelming,

Cheese lovers: this is so good in a pasta salad with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and pepperoni.

Grate on top of any Italian dish, pizza, eggs, add to chili.
Take that grilled cheese from ho-hum to WOW.

A customer stopped by recently carrying one of our original Milton Creamery insulated tote bags, and we have to admit... it made us smile 😃.

Seeing that well-loved bag brought back a lot of memories and reminded us just how quickly 20 years can fly by.

Over the years, we've made a lot of cheese, met a lot of wonderful people, and watched our little creamery grow in ways we never imagined. But one thing hasn't changed—customers like you who continue to support us year after year.

What are those crunchy crystals in Prairie Breeze?
The fun answer is Cheese Confetti 🥳

Those crystals you find in Prairie Breeze are tyrosine crystals. As Prairie Breeze ages, proteins naturally break down into amino acids. One of those amino acids, tyrosine, gathers together and forms the delightful crystals that give aged cheese its signature crunch.

Fascinating fact, tyrosine releases dopamine in your brain, so no you are not imagining how happy cheese makes you!

Did you know every block of cheese starts out looking absolutely nothing like cheese? 🧀

It all begins as curds.

Fresh curds are the "teenage years" of cheese—full of potential, a little squeaky, and not quite sure what they want to be when they grow up. 😄

Those curds are carefully stirred, hooped, pressed, and aged until they become the cheeses you know and love, whether it's Prairie Breeze™, Old Style Cheddar, Morning Harvest, or one of our flavored cheddars, they all started in the very same place.

It's a reminder that great things take time. What begins as a vat of milk and a pile of curds eventually becomes the Milton Creamery cheese you love.
