WHOLE & HALF BEEF IS OPEN FOR OCTOBER! 🥩

If filling that freezer with GOOD beef has been on your to-do list…this is your sign.👏🏻

We have a limited number of whole and half beef spots available for October processing, with beef ready for pickup toward the end of October.

And with all the uncertainty surrounding the beef market right now, locking in your beef supply ahead of time is something worth considering. Prices aren’t exactly getting any friendlier, and knowing you’ve got a freezer full of beef you trust is worth a whole lot. ❤️

Buying a whole or half beef is also one of the best ways to fill your freezer at a fraction of what you’d pay buying those same cuts individually at the grocery store.

You get steaks. Roasts. Ground beef. And all those good cuts that make a freezer actually WORK for your family. 🥩🍔

Space is VERY limited, so once these spots are gone, they’re gone!

The chicken freezer is FULL, and this chicken was processed YESTERDAY… so it truly does NOT get much fresher than this! Iykyk! 👀

🥛 Farmer Nate is getting milk jarred and ready for the day.

It’s shaping up to be a BEAUTIFUL Thursday, and honestly, the only thing we could possibly add to it is seeing your smiling faces. 🥰

OKAY Y’ALL… WE NEED YOUR HELP. 🚨

If we could add ONE. SINGLE. THING. to Herd & Harvest Market, what would you want it to be?!

Not 10 things. Not a whole shopping list. 😂

ONE THING.

Think about it… you walk into our store, you’ve got your milk, eggs, meat, bread, produce, pantry staples, cheese, all your good stuff…

What is the ONE thing you’d walk over and grab if we had it sitting on the shelf?

Maybe it’s something we can find from a local farmer, baker, maker or producer.

Maybe it’s something we can source and find the cleanest, best version possible to carry in our store.

Maybe it’s something you currently have to make a second stop somewhere else to get.

Happy Wednesday!
Jennifer will be opening the store while I head over to Mississippi to pick up chicken from our processor. That means for the 3rd week in a row, y’all are getting a chicken restock tomorrow!! 🐔 Yayyyy! 🥳👏

If chicken is on your list, plan to arrive first thing tomorrow! Last Thursday was our biggest day since opening, and chicken was pretty much sold out by around noon. The majority of it was already in people’s baskets as folks were standing in line with it by about 11:30. It went FAST, so we fully expect tomorrow to be a repeat!

🐶 Honey will be in the store tomorrow, too!

But there’s plenty happening at the store today too! ❤️

🥛 A fresh load of milk and eggs is headed to the store today.

🐐 We also received our final delivery of goat’s milk for the season yesterday. It won’t be delivered again until February! The good news is that goat’s milk freezes really well, so if you’re needing to stock up and get through the season, freezing it is the answer you’re looking for.

🥬 Skybound Acres delivered today, and we have a fresh harvest of beautiful Butterhead lettuce!

🍞 Heather from Heather’s Baked Goods is busy baking today for tomorrow. She is bringing so much bread, yall!

So really, there’s no reason to wait! Come see us today AND tomorrow we don’t mind seeing y’all twice in one week! 😉❤️

Today is a great day to grab your milk, eggs, goat’s milk, lettuce and whatever else you need, and tomorrow is the day to come early for that chicken restock!

We're going to take a day off.
Because Labor Day isn't just about having a Monday off work. It's about honoring the labor that goes into building something, providing for your family, and putting food on somebody else's table.

Farmers work incredibly hard so that families all across this country can eat.

So today, we're going to honor that work by stepping away from the market for a day, spending time with our own family, and remembering that rest is part of the work, too.

In our world, we dont get days off, but today we are making it our load a little lighter by only doing chores on the farm.

The cows dont care what day it is- they need to be milked.
The pigs dont know its Labor day- they still need their feeder refilled.
The same pigs that wanted to break the water spout last night- so we also have to spend the day fixing that.
The chickens still lay eggs that need collecting.
It never ends.

And while we wont take the day off, we will take the day slow and remember the hard work that keeps America running everyday. Thank you to all of the hard workers out there that build our community and country!

For 13 years, we had the BEST girl. Our Emma.

She was with us for the majority of her life and through so many chapters of ours. She was in engagement photos, our wedding, pregnancy announcements and bringing babies home! She was there before these babies, through all the chaos, and for more memories than we could ever count. And when we lost her on May 20, 2022, it broke our hearts.

So we waited.
And waited.
And waited some more. 😂
Our hearts needed some time.
Plus, there was no shortage of dogs around here. 🤣 We had Dart and Great Pyrenees (Finn and Max)... our farm employees who get paid in pets

But a few months ago, we started talking about a puppy, we decided it was time to bring another sweet baby home.

And then along came Honey.🍯🐶

And y’all… this dog is a LITTLE REPLICA OF EMMA. 😂

The face. The ears. The attitude. The little personality. It’s like somebody took Emma, shrunk her down, and said, “Here y’all go. Try this again.”

We know Honey is her own little girl, and she could never replace Emma. Nobody could.
But there’s something really special about seeing a little bit of Emma in her.

We get to watch Honey grow up right alongside these babies. They’re going to grow up together, get into all kinds of trouble together, and hopefully love this little girl as fiercely as we loved Emma.

So, after four years of waiting…
Welcome home, Honey. 🍯❤️

She's got some BIG paw prints to follow.
But something tells me she is gonna fit right in around here. 🐾😂❤️
