I Just want to start by saying I really don’t have a Mother’s Day, because let’s be honest, if I happened to take the day off today, then I would have double the workload tomorrow. Also, we didn’t go out today to any restaurants because they’re jam packed. I do get a gift and a hug which I am very grateful for, but I don’t relax. After opening up my instagram and seeing all the people and the children who were displaced in Gaza, mothers suffering with the loss of their children, children suffering with the loss of their limbs and the loss of their loved ones, especially their mothers. I see too much agony, despair, and lost hope. Because Israel seems to be getting away with anything they want and the United States keeps letting them. So it really puts things into perspective for me and honestly, it’s fine that I still have to clean on Mother’s Day or even cook, it’s fine that I don’t get to relax, because I am blessed in more ways than one. I have a house to clean, I have food to cook and I have my children with me. it’s something to be super grateful for this Mother’s Day. My heart aches for the mothers who are suffering and the children who lost their moms in Gaza. So Happy Mother’s Day yes, but with a new perspective.
