I was going to wait to post this but I’m so sick of not being able to talk about it 🤣 WE ARE MOVING!!!!!!!!

This is not my first house or mikes first house to own but it’s our first TOGETHER and we are stoked. Big shoutout to Aly & Holly Swezey l Milwaukee Realtor and Ethan Brooks for all of their help through this process!

A day spent surrounded by books, authors & fellow book lovers 📚✨

On Saturday, I got to check out the very first Lakeside Literary Festival in Lake Geneva, and it was such a fun addition to the weekend. From author talks and panels to book signings, an author fair and even a writing workshop for kids, there was something for every kind of reader.

I loved getting to discover new authors, hear their stories and spend the day celebrating the people who bring those stories to life. 💛 Huge shoutout to Lakeside Books | Lake Geneva Bookstore and Lake Geneva Public Library for putting together this awesome event. If you’re a book lover, definitely keep this one on your radar for next year!

For those of you who don’t know, this is my fiance, Mike. Two years ago, Mike was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Follicular Lymphoma. He started chemotherapy right away and completed it in December of 2024. Yesterday, he completed round 7 of 8 of his “maintenance chemo” which he’s received every 3 months for the last 2 years.

Luckily, Mikes body has taken treatment well and he currently has “no evidence of disease” but Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma does not go away. It’s something that Mike will be living with the rest of his life.

Organizations like Blood Cancer United help patients like Mike by offering support, funding research, and making impacts on treatment. The drug Mike has been taking for chemo was directly funded by Blood Cancer United.

On September 17th at 5:30pm, the Light the Night walk will take place at the Summerfest grounds. We’ve attended the event the last 2 years and it’s extremely powerful.

I have never seen Mike feel so strongly about something off the bat 🤣

Two houses both had “new” flooring but they floors were clearly DIY. Which is fine, I DIY plenty. However, there were lots of gaps between the floor & the wall, there were areas that were bowed. The floors on both of these houses were the ENTIRE house and that just not a project we want to take on 🤷🏻‍♀️
