Couple of fun fact that maybe some of y’all already knew but maybe some of you didn’t...

Did you realize that one of those 10lb rolls of ground beef that you get from the big box stores can actually be made up of over 100 different animals?? 😳 🔫 whoa!

AND when you combine those number with the fact that the average American family member consumes around 50lbs of ground beef a year, that means that the average American beef consumer could be eating parts from 5,000 different cows a year! 😬😬....now let that sink in and tell me if you know where your beef is coming from?

So in an attempt to stop all that unnecessary madness, we are providing some ground only box bundles of some high quality 90/10lean Grassfed/grain finished ground beef. You guys will absolutely love these flat square 1 pound packages when you go to stack in your freezers and when you go to thaw them out! Quick and even Steven!

Yesterday was one for the record books! Plowboy came in around 10pm exhausted and depleted from a hard day of work and loss helping another local farm. There was some loss as there always is in farming, but this little gal made it through which is always worthy to rejoice about! She was a twin born a wee bit early. Sadly mom and brother didn’t make it, but we believe she is going to be just fine with lots of love and care.

She is a Charolais and Black Angus Mix which gives her the most beautiful light smoky color.

We have some of the prettiest pasture- raised beef/soup bones I’ve ever seen. While plowboy is out tending to the cattle on this record low -14 degree day, I am in the kitchen putting these bones to use and making homemade beef stock.

The health benefits that come from beef stock are extremely rich. From gut health to better skin you just can’t beat it.

So much has been happening behind the scenes on the farm already in 2021 that I can’t hardly contain my excitement and spill all the beans, but plowboy is making me wait! However, I can say we will be doing our very first shipment of beef 😱 - We’ve spent a lot of time researching different methods and how to keep costs low for our customers. Stay tuned for when our shipping will open up to all customers!

We will only be able to do shipping within state lines until we get our federal label approved, but still this is HUGE and will open so many doors as we work to expand our reach to get the highest quality source of beef protein to as many people as we can! It’s hard to believe this all started less than a year ago. God is faithful!! Keep reaching! Keep moving!

What does ordering by the cut vs. by the share beef mean?

In grocery stores or butcher shops you can buy meat by the cut. When you buy direct from our farm you will also have the option to purchase by the share, meaning you are a shareholder of the live animal. This can include buying a whole cow, a half, or a quarter. You will still have the option to have a butcher cut the animal how you like. If you don’t know what you like, we have an easy form and can guide you through the selection process.
