Stone River Dairy Goats We're a small farm with a small herd of clean-tested Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. Website coming soon! We love our Nigerian herd and enjoy sharing it with others.

We have a wonderful, clean-tested (CAE/CL/Johne's) Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat herd in central Virginia. After years of talking about it, we entered the world of goats in 2020. Thanks for joining us!

DOB: 4/19/23 (just over 5 months old)
Location: Mine Run, VA 22508 (30 minutes west of Fredericksburg)

We have one last girl to find a new farm for 2023 - we love her and have been putting off listing her. This is for pet/brush eater only as she is a hermaphrodite. She is super sweet and beautiful so we're really bummed she was in utero with two brothers and appears to be a hermie. Her name is Scout, she is polled with blue eyes, loves cookies and being in your lap, and she loves her doeling friends (half-sisters) she's grown up with.

She has had a lot of handling and love and was both bottle fed and dam raised.
Very good forager, very people-oriented. Clean-tested herd (last tested in Nov 2022).
If you don’t currently have any goats then Scout is not the girl for you. All goats require a buddy and we don't have anyone to go with her currently except her brothers.

Mine Run, VA 22508 (30 minutes west of Fredericksburg)

Opal is a horned (on one side), blue-eyed, unregistered Nigerian Dwarf doe. She is a 3 year old 2F, currently in milk (freshened 4-20-23 with quad doelings, no assistance needed even with one breech). One of her horns is very short. almost like a scur, and the other is longer and also blunted on the end (see pics).
Currently being hand milked 2x/day to keep production up as well as feeding her two of her doeling kids. She is from a registered sire but unregistered dam. Opal was the very first baby we brought home so she has had a lot of handling and love. Very good forager with sweet disposition. She is smaller than our other fully grown ND girls. Good feet, nice overall conformation.
Very good forager, very people-oriented, knows her name. Clean-tested herd (last tested in Nov 2022).
If you don’t currently have any goats then you will need to get two – we will not have a goat be a loner. That does not equal healthy or happy for the goat. All goats require a buddy.

We had four doelings (up for discussion) from Briar Pines JC Ring of Fire x (unregistered) Opal on April 21st. Opal was a champ with kidding this year - one of the doelings was breech and she managed it so well as a 2F.
Opal is out of a registered sire and unregistered dam (dam was apparently registered at one point but paperwork was lost, so for our purposes she is unregistered). SO, her doelings will be the same as her - registered sire and unregistered dam. All four have been disbudded and will be available as bottle babies or at weaning age.
