Our Story

Welcome to Blue Line Silkies of West Virginia, breeders and exhibitors of Silkie Bantams chickens since 2017. We are NPIP certified, AI clean, members of the American Bantam Association, and American Silkie Bantam Club. Janell currently is the West Virginia State rep for the American Silkie Bantam Club. We breed standard variety bearded black, bearded buff, and non bearded white. We participate in ABA/APA sanctioned shows in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. In the future we hope to expand to some other states. Our focus is dedicated breeder pens for all colors to insure lines and colors. On our farm we practice strict bio-security as we are confident in the health of our flock and chicks. In 2019 we added a white great Pyrenees working livestock dog to our farm. Our son participates in youth showmanship and junior class at all shows we attend. He recently placed 5th in the nation at the Ohio National in November 2019. In 2018 had the champion silkie at the Eastern National while also being reserve champion feather leg overall in the junior class held during the Ohio National.
