These past several months have been heavy here in Minnesota. Across the Twin Cities and beyond, many of our neighbors are living with fear, uncertainty, and disruption to their daily lives. Families have been separated, routines upended, and entire communities deeply impacted.
Amid all of this, we continue to witness something powerful: neighbors showing up for one another.
In that spirit, we partnered with Lundberg Family Farms to donate rice to Zion Community Commons—supporting families across the Twin Cities with something as simple, and essential, as food. Food is more than nourishment; it is comfort, it is culture, and it is a reminder that no one should have to navigate moments like this alone.
We’re deeply grateful for organizations like Zion Community Commons that are doing the critical, often unseen work of caring for the community in real time.
There is still an urgent need for support and resources for all the families affected. To learn more about their work, please visit . 🤍

Meet one of our Food Scientists!! Tori is an SDSU and K-State alum with over 15 years of R&D experience. She began her career in food product development at Kraft Foods, working in natural cheese and learning from brilliant scientists and engineers. She later joined Kemps in Minnesota, where the work felt a bit like being an ice-cream W***y Wonka—plus some cultured and fluid products mixed in.

Tori has been with Artisan Row for four years and has truly enjoyed bringing clients’ ideas to life. She loves tackling technical challenges, ideating, and scaling products in manufacturing. She finds the food system endlessly fascinating and appreciates that there’s always more to learn.

Tori, Unplugged ...
Tori has become a bit of a history buff, which has sparked her love of learning in new ways. She gets especially energized discovering interesting figures throughout history—from Samuel Adams to lesser-known contributors like Septima Clark and Dr. Nancy Caroline, who made significant impacts by simply doing the next right thing.

A Dish Close to Her Heart
She loves cooking and fully immersing herself in Thanksgiving dinner: homemade rolls, brined turkey, Granny’s secret stuffing, mashed potatoes, and multiple pies. She revisits cherished family recipes every year and holds fond memories of cooking alongside her grandma in a tiny kitchen filled with warmth and tradition.

Meet one of our Food Scientists Nali!
Born and bred in the land of 10,000 lakes, Nali is a proud chilly-weather-loving Minnesotan, mom to one small human, and devoted animal lover (with a special place in her heart for cats).
With over 15 years in food R&D, Nali brings deep expertise in high pressure pasteurization (HPP), acidified foods, and functional nutrition. Her favorite part of the job? Helping people share their stories and show their love through food — something she feels lucky to do every day at both Artisan Row and NATIFS (North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems).

Nali, Unplugged…
When Nali says she’s passionate, she means it — though “extremely nerdy” might be her preferred description. Her current obsessions? Wild gardens, Lake Superior, climate justice, reading poetry, rock collecting, and beans (of all kinds ).
When she’s not cooking up ideas or fermenting something fabulous, you’ll find her sewing, knitting, or embroidering while listening to music — or maybe a Canadian true crime podcast. She’s also a women’s basketball fan and a proud bird nerd.

A Dish Close to Her Heart…
If Nali could relive one food experience for the first time, it would be her last supper choice: unlimited hot, buttery, salty corn on the cob. Simple, joyful, and a little messy — just the way she likes it.

We got our hands (and taste buds) on the FoodBevy Insider Box—and it’s basically R&D in snack form. As a food agency championing small, founder-led brands, we love exploring the bold flavors and innovative ideas inside each box. It’s a tasty way to spot trends, spark inspiration, and support the next wave of food makers. Do you spot any of your favorites?

During our team retreat last month, we had the chance to slow down and connect through an informative herbal tea session with the incredible Francesca Garcia of – an Indigenous sister-owned business offering a beautiful range of herbal products and teas.

Francesca guided us through a step-by-step making of a sumac honey syrup (which turned into the most refreshing summer beverage) as we listened and learned about nervine and hormone-supportive herbs. Each of us created our own custom tea blend based on the unique properties and benefits we were drawn to. It was a grounding and nourishing experience, and certainly a highlight of the trip.

Artisan Row’s 3rd Annual Team Retreat was one for the books. Though our team is typically spread across Minnesota, Nebraska, and Arizona, we were overjoyed to come together in a cozy cabin north of the Twin Cities for two glorious days. We enjoyed yummy, collaborative meals, boating on the lake, homemade tea blends, puzzling, and meaningful connection. We left full (in every sense of the word) and grateful for this little team with a big heart.

We love when a productive day of trials, stainless steel & science wrap with just enough time to dive into St. Louis’ food scene. Swipe to see the shift from test runs to tasting menus.

A serendipitous end to a successful day, and a reminder that the best work happens when you make space for both sides of the table.

Get to Know Malia
Role: Agency Operations Manager

Then & Now

A loyal Arizona native, Malia is a mom of three grown kids and has been married for over 20 years. She finds joy in the rhythm of the desert – rising early to begin each day soaking in the sunrise, and absolutely loving the magical desert rain.

She began her professional life as an elementary school teacher, and found a creative outlet in wedding florals and family photography. As her photography business flourished, she transitioned into entrepreneurship full-time, specializing in newborn & family portraits for over 13 years - during which she mentored aspiring photographers in AZ, and travelled to Japan to lead photography workshops.

Five years ago, she set her camera down and pivoted toward her next passion: helping other small business owners streamline operations and scale sustainably. Our most recent team member, Malia joined AR in January, making 2025 off to a strong start.

Malia, Unplugged

Malia is a true nature lover and is happiest outdoors. Her activities of choice include hiking, kayaking, gardening & bird watching. She’s deeply intuitive, constantly exploring self-growth through sound baths, walking meditations, breathing exercises & podcasts. She’s also a devoted dog mom to Peaches, her 9 yo English bulldog.

A Dish Close to Her Heart

There’s a small gem called Rock Springs Pie, serving up a life-changing Jack Daniel’s pecan pie, which Malia happily drives an hour and a half to enjoy – she orders it warmed up, and if she could experience a dish for the first time again, it would undoubtedly be this one.
