Intentional Drip An e-commerce coffee brand that promotes goodness and inclusion in the world while making an impact, one conversation at a time.

My name is Jesse Ross and I work as a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant, executive coach, and international speaker. At my day job, I offer training, workshops, evaluations, and strategy development for colleges, conferences, and companies across the country. I am passionate about helping people think more holistically about how to engage with their community and focus on fostering an en

Yo,

I’m Jesse. Jesse Ross as what everyone else calls me. I’ve gone by my full name my whole life. Don’t ask me why.

I thought it was about time to reintroduce myself to the new faces around here and share a slice of my story for the new folks who’ve joined me on this journey.

I’m an entrepreneur at heart, with a passion that’s as broad as the Minnesota skies. I’ve dipped my toes in the waters of commercial real estate, founded the Intentional Drip e-commerce coffee brand, and honed my skills as a public speaker who stands for more than just profit.

My story is one of a man who’s built from the ground up. I’ve breathed life into businesses, fostered them from ideas to enterprises, and along the way, I’ve picked up a lesson or two about what it means to make a real difference.

I’ve learned that entrepreneurship isn’t just about making a million dollars; it’s about making a million little impacts. Here are a few truths I’ve come to live by:
* Integrity is non-negotiable.
* True wealth comes from the value you offer to others, not just the dollars in the bank.

I didn’t just fall into success; I’ve built it with my own hands, one brick at a time.

Now, I’m looking to connect the dots for you. Whether you know me from the neighborhood-changing real estate deals, the empowering messages of Intentional Drip, my presence on the stage, or my hands-on work in our community — there’s a story behind each venture, and it’s all part of a larger vision.

If you’re keen on learning how to build a legacy, create businesses that last, and make a genuine impact, let’s walk this path together. Why settle for a brief introduction when we can engage in conversations that matter?

Stay tuned for more… this was the short version so I could just get it out there.

šŸŽ‰ Great Day Good People! It's my birthday today! šŸŽ‚šŸ„³ I gave myself the gift of not checking email today.

This year, instead of just receiving gifts (because I definitely don’t mind that ), I'm focusing even more on making the most impact in my community with what I have. I've got some exciting initiatives happening that could use your support:

* Intentional Drip Coffee: I created an e-commerce coffee brand called Intentional Drip that focuses on having intentional conversations over a cup of coffee. Buy some coffee!

* Create Change via Petition: There’s a liquor store in my neighborhood that is up for a liquor license renewal. The liquor store has created decades of death, violence, and destruction on the corner of Broadway and Lyndale Ave and we think it’s time for a change.

* šŸ¢ Commercial Real Estate: If you’ve been paying attention, I just bought a 68k Sq ft building! One thing I discovered recently, there’s no security cameras.

* šŸŽ Community Giving: Join me in making a difference! We have some great community projects, like back-to-school drives and holiday gift giving, coming up. Your support would mean the world. If you’ve been following me recently or for a while but you realized that you would like to be part of my community engagement efforts and just want to be notified of opportunities

* šŸ™„šŸ«A Note For my Stubborn People: If you’re just one of those people who would like to give me a gift that’s not on this list, here are a few things I like

* Giftcards: Chipotle, Nike, Caribou, Amazon are my usual stops.
* I don’t eat cake but I LOVE chocolate chip cookies from Insomnia Cookies - A cookie from there always makes the day brighter!

* Good Restaurants - You all know we have a bunch of kids but I enjoy date nights with Tyler. So you if you want o buy us a gift card to visit a really nice restaurant for a date, by all means, don’t let me stop you!

So, while I blow out the candles today, I'm also wishing for your support and collaboration on these exciting endeavors. Let’s make this year not just about posting a generic ā€œhappy birthdayā€ message, but about making a positive impact together! šŸŒšŸ’Ŗ

The reminders that I keep around me on a consistent basis from the people who are most important in my life.

This is from my nephew. I’m pretty sure it was for Father’s Day. He wrote a list of posted notes of what he appreciates/loves about me: Working hard šŸ’ŖšŸ¾

That can be misleading. You can work hard and never be home, present, or available. Or you can work hard at the things you say are the most important to you, and actually be honorable for following through on your commitments.

I choose to work hard and be present as much as I can in my family’s life. I’ve had great role models to show me how to do it. It’s just up to me to find my way of doing it.

That also means that there’s a sacrifice. It comes with not as many galas and events because I made a commitment to be home when they get off the bus.

It means that I have to work early and late nights before and after they go to bed. And no one is making me do it. Especially not them.

I choose to.

Every day we get to choose. Perspective is a powerful gift.

I hope you choose what’s important in your life.

This pic reminds me of something a mentor told me this morning:

There’s power in waiting….

There’s a journey that I’ve been on that only a few people fully know about and it has been full of learnings.

It’s also been full of times where I’ve felt like I’ve been passed over with opportunities or recognition. Only those who know me well get to hear the frustrations.

In my waiting I’ve learned that there’s a lot of preparation that is required. Preparation looks different in different seasons, but it’s focused on action or doing something.

Waiting can also feel like being hidden in plain sight but no one sees you. A question that was posed to me a long time ago was ā€œdo you care if anyone sees you?ā€

My answer was yes! But it was the WHO that matters the most. My nuclear family, my community that I’ve created, God, and those who also feel like they’ve been hidden or looked over.

Just when you think there’s no hope, just wait…

When you think there’s not more to learn, just wait…

If you think no one is watching, just wait…

If you think this is it, just wait…

It’s fitting that I’m wearing a Kaepernick jersey in this picture, because I know when he took a knee, he was waiting on the rest of the world to pay attention, waiting on people to catch up, and was eventually waiting on a call back from an NFL team so he could do what he loved…

But in the process of his waiting, he found something else that he was passionate about, that he loved, that was purposeful…

So to you, reading this… just wait…
