REPAIR, RENEW, REUSE! 🧵

We’re excited to partner with Patagonia St. Paul for a hands-on Mending Workshop at Tare Market Northeast! Learn how to give your well-loved clothing a little more life instead of sending it to the landfill.

Bring any number of items you’d like to mend (just keep in mind you may not get through everything during the workshop though)! The Patagonia team will teach basic mending techniques in the first 45 minutes then give one-on-one assistance to work on repairing your items.

Please note: Basic supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own specific patches, thread, or other materials you’d like to use.

Whether you have a favorite sweater with a hole, a pair of pants that needs some attention, or just want to learn a few basic repair skills, this is a great opportunity to learn how to keep the things you already own in use for longer.

Recycling doesn’t stop at your curb. ♻️

At Tare Market, we offer a recycling program for items that are typically hard to recycle—like plastic cards, candy and snack wrappers, phone cases, and more.

This program is community funded, which allows us to keep offering it as a resource for you for items that otherwise cannot be recycled in your curbside bin. Every item dropped off is one less thing heading to the landfill.

If you’ve been holding onto those “not sure what to do with this” items, this is your sign to bring them in.

Here’s what we accept:
♻️ Candy and Snack Wrappers
♻️ Plastic Cards (old gift cards, promo cards, etc.)
♻️ Shaving Items (all brands of blades, razors and plastic packaging)
♻️ Squeezable Snack Pouches (all brands of pouches & caps, rinsed and dried)
♻️ Dental Items (all brands of toothpaste tubes, plastic toothbrushes and packaging, and dental floss containers)
♻️ Wearable Sneakers (gently used sneakers that can be provided to people in need)
♻️ Phone Cases
♻️ NEW: Jewelry!

Due to cost, we no longer offer beauty product recycling but don’t throw them away! Most Ulta Beauty, Nordstrom and Sephora locations have Pact Collective beauty recycling bins that you can drop off to instead.

SURPRISE! We’re extending the Warehouse Sale one more day. If you weren’t able to make it over the weekend to our Northeast location, you have one more day to shop the sale!

So much of what we buy over and over is actually packaging we’re paying for. Refilling lets you keep the container, skip the extra waste, and pay for only what you need.

We want to be honest with you about something that’s been weighing heavily on us. This year has been incredibly challenging for Tare Market. The presence of ICE in our community earlier this year, along with ongoing road construction, has had a significant impact on foot traffic and sales at both of our locations, but with Northeast hurting the most.

Tare Market is more than a store. We’re a small, local business working to make low-waste living more accessible, support local makers and growers, and create a place where our community can come together. We want to keep doing that work, but we can’t do it without you.

Right now, we really need your help. If you’re able, there are a few really meaningful ways you can support us:

→ SHOP WITH US IN PERSON at either location. Even a small purchase makes a difference.

→ ORDER ONLINE if you’re not local. We ship orders across the US, so you can support Tare Market from wherever you are!

→ CHOOSE LOCAL DELIVERY if you can’t make it in! We deliver within a 20 mile radius of the store so you can still get your zero waste needs right to your door!

→ ORDER ON A SUBSCRIPTION! If you frequently restock on an item, we now offer subscriptions where you can save on your future re-orders. Order these for delivery, pickup or shipping!

→ SPREAD THE WORD about Tare Market. Share this post, send our website to a friend, tag them in our Instagram posts, bring someone into the store with you, talk about what we (and you) are doing! Sometimes simply helping us get the word our can be just as valuable as making a purchase.
