In recent years, Minnesota’s food and agricultural sector has been faced with an increasingly difficult political and policy environment that jeopardizes the continued vitality of one of the state’s largest and most valued economic and job sectors. Unfortunately, significant political pressure from a various activists is having an impact in shaping views on important issues without the counter-bal
ance of more reasonable voices. AGM is a Minnesota coalition spreading the word about the importance of good farm, food and jobs in the state. The Minnesota Agri-Growth Council, the Minnesota Pork Producers Association the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, the Chicken and Egg Association of Minnesota, the Minnesota Milk Producers Association and various other Minnesota farm and food entities support the AGM coalition. Our coalition is all about welcoming support for the “big tent” among Minnesota farm and food producers. We want to help engage you, the voters, to learn more about MN’s farm and food agenda, its impact on our local economies and how to take action during this election season. A key component of our campaign is asking you, the voters, to encourage legislative candidates to take the 5-point MN Food and Farm Pledge, which encourages supporting all good MN farms (big or small, traditional or organic), environmental stewardship, caring for farm animals, sensible food labeling and food safety. We hope you'll take the time to read more about MN farm and food production on this at farmandfoodmn.org, learn more about the 5-point MN Farm and Food Pledge, and ask your legislative candidates to take the 5-Point MN Farm and Food Pledge.
