According to legend, she would have her sails doused with perfume when sailing to meet Mark Antony, so the aroma would reach him before her ship arrived, creating an enchanting and alluring atmosphere.

The story of the clove tree named "Afo" is an interesting one that originates from the island of Ternate in Indonesia. The Afo clove tree is believed to be one of the oldest clove trees in the world, with estimated ages ranging from 350 to over 400 years.

What makes the Afo clove tree particularly fascinating is its significance in history and its connection to the spice trade. The clove trade was highly lucrative during the colonial era, and the Dutch East India Company sought to monopolize it. In the 18th century, the Dutch controlled the production and trade of cloves by uprooting all the clove trees on the surrounding islands, except for the Afo tree on Ternate.

The Afo clove tree became a symbol of resistance and defiance and was protected at all costs, even during attempts to destroy it.

The Afo clove tree continues to stand tall and proud on the island of Ternate to this day. . The tree is considered a national treasure in Indonesia.
